YA books featuring Black characters. The next Harry Potter? No the first Louis Proof-Author spotlight Troy CLE

So a few weeks back, I came across an author,whom I'd never heard of until Goodreads. After several failed attempts to find more books featuring POC characters as protagonists, I decided to create this group to bring people together and share their experiences with books featuring multiculturalism.

Little did I know, that an author by the name of Troy CLE, would join my humble group, and introduce me to his world. He was humble in his promotion, and after knowing more about the book, I had to indulge in purchasing it through Amazon.

If you're like me, I like to know more about an author when I purchase their book. I came upon his website, and realized his book has been out for years, and that even though he is represented by a major publishing house, his own mastermind abilities have been the reason for his success.

Watching interviews, reading articles, and exchanging Goodreads messages to him myself, Im ashamed that I hadn't heard of his book until now. There are articles claiming his main character Louis Proof is the "Black Harry Potter." But I think it's a much more fair assessment to just refer to him as the first "Louis Proof."

Too many times, a POC author's success is based on how they match up their Caucasian counterparts(or White, I thought would sound rude, but after this Boston bombing issue, the word Caucasian is being torn apart). I haven't read his book yet, but Troy CLE(a pseudonym for Celestial Like Entity)has made a miraculous breakthrough in self publishing. He researched in detail what it took to get backed by a major publishing house, and it was because he believed in his art and wouldn't take no for an answer.
