I'll be interested to see what answers are given if this generates many responses.

The group selections decide 25-30% of my books, per year, and I'll read personal recommendations. Otherwise I browse book shops and pick up the occasional classic.

I only ever read reviews when there's a much-hyped book due for release, and I've never listened to/watched a pod cast.

I-like-to-read (akakate) Not a podcast or blog but I watch the book show on Sky Arts, also Channel 4 have a book club.

I also listen to Simon Mayo on BBC Radio 2 he has a book club.

And Richard and Judy have a website for their book club.

Most of the above are where I get my reading inspiration from, I know it’s sad :-(

Just found out today that Dublin's "One City, One Book" for April is Strumpet City. I'm really surprised that more people haven't read it.

I'd never even heard of it, to be honest. I must check it out.

Hi Allan, I listen to book podcasts quite a bit to accompany a long work commute. I, too, listen to the Guardian book podcast and the BBC ones you mentioned. NPR (National Public Radio) (NPR.org) also has a books podcast, but they're not as good as the BBC or Guardian. They usually take reviews from a bunch of different NPR broadcasts and compile them all. It may be helpful, though, if you're interested in hearing about a range of books. You also might want to check in "on point," a specific radio program on NPR. They do occasional book podcasts or long author interviews. And they usually have an hour long program a couple times a year--"the best books of 2012," or "good summertime reads,"--topics like that. All the best--Cathleen

I've been reading about it here, so I'll be looking for it in the town library or online.

I found it to be such a rewarding experience that if anyone ever told me the didn't enjoy it I would never be able to understand why.

I've added it. I really should start reading from my to-read list. It's starting to get out of hand.

John Braine (trontsephore) My favourite book blog is http://www.farmlanebooks.co.uk/ though I think an important factor in finding a good book blog is finding someone with relatively similar fastest and reading habits to you.

I'm also subscribed to http://sandynawrot.blogspot.ie

The Guardian Books podcast is the only books podcast I listen to. Though, to be honest it's my go-to snoozecast... the podcast I listen to when I wake up in the middle of the night and want to listen to something to soothe me back to sleep!

Offtopic: Jonathan Goldsteins Wiretap is one of my favourite (non specific) podcasts. Just a really good mix of poignant stories and silliness. Check out this one for example http://www.voicebase.com/autonotes/pu...
