My first contact with Jaci Burton's work is her anthology, Wild, Wicked and Wanton, which can be classified as contemporary erotica. I enjoyed the book very much, so when I saw her Demon series, and I like PNR, I thought it will be a good match.Unfortunately, I couldn't get into Surviving Demon Island. I even didn't get to finish it. I was quite disappointed.
I tried her other series, Wild Riders, another contemporary erotica, and I enjoyed the first book.
It's a shame that I couldn't get into her PNR work.
I just got the first in the wild series.. I forgot the name of it though. Something about an art thief and a cop. I'll probably start reading it tonight.Yeah the first book in the PNR series was a bit slow, I really enjoyed the second and third one.
I don't know what it is, but the first books in series always seem to suck in comparison to the others lol. Or maybe I'm just crazy!
Actually that is the prevalent trend, if the discussions on the different boards is to be based upon. Readers seem to find the first book of heir favorite series the weakest of the lot, or something along that line.
Oh no another book to the tbr pile. Would you say that the first book spends a lot of energy world building and not enough with charicters doing? lily
There is some world building going on. But I actually just liked the second better because of the characters. I found the characters in the second book a little more compelling.YZ - I just read the first book in her Riding series, and I thought it was a little bit better than the demon series. Another series I have to finish :)
I did read surviving demon island and I like it. I like the world she created and I thought the whole reality tv was funny. I do intend to read the next one.
I just popped over to her website to do a little excerpt reading and who knew she had written that many books. Oh and the excerpt is up if you want to read it.http://jaciburton.com/takenbysin.html

So I came up with Jaci Burton's Demon Hunter series.
Here's the order:
Surviving Demon Island
Hunting the Demon
The Darkest Touch
Coming out in later this year:
Taken by Sin
I just finished the Darkest touch, and it was pretty good. I like this series because I haven't read many books with demons in it. SO it's a little bit different from all the other PNR's out there. And it also has demon hunters. Which is interesting. Then some of the demon hunters are actually half demons. The storyline has gotten more complex asthe books have moved on and I'm looking forward to the next one in the series :)
