Beven leaned back against the cave wall, not caring that rocks were jabbing into her back

Hayden hadn't lifted her head. Her forehead still rested on her knees. "You know, sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I wasn't blind..." she mumbled to no one in particular.
Hayden shrugged. "I don't want to be blind. I don't want to be short. I don't want to be pale. I don't want to be blonde. I don't want to be a mistake. I don't want to be a lot of things. The list goes on."
"First, you are not a mistake. Second, everyone has things they dont want to be. Trust me, your not the only one." Beven said
"If I'm not a mistake, tell me why my mother's only words to me were 'get her away from me, I don't want her.'" Hayden said softly. "I was never supposed to be born."
"Maybe you were a mistake to her. But that doesnt matter, your here now and I know your not a mistake." Beven said quietly
"She sent me to the School because she thought they were going to kill me!" Hayden said harshly but quietly, more directed at her mother than anything. She still refused to cry.
Hayden bit her lip, trying harder than anything not to cry. "She wanted me dead. She got her wish. I'm dead inside." and a tear slipped down her cheek despite her best efforts.
Hayden tensed. No one had ever hugged her before. Not even her mother had hugged her. Hayden definitely wished her mother had, even if she hadn't wanted her. Another tear slipped down her cheeks.
Hayden relaxed. She could definitely say that hugs were nice. She leaned into Beven's hug, her forehead on her knees, and let her tears fall. She didn't have a choice at that point. She had to cry.
Hayden shivered and let her tears fall. She'd never cried in her life, so she supposed she could right now, for a little while.
Hayden shivered. "It's so cold here." she whimpered, even if the cave was a warm eighty degrees, she was freezing. She sobbed softly, not wanting to wake anyone.
Hayden shuddered. "It's horrible, your own mother not wanting you, not even naming you. My name was all my father, right before he abandoned me, too." Hayden let out a shaky breath and didn't bother wiping the tears from her face. She sobbed lightly, her breaths quick and uneven.
Hayden shivered, her body contorted with sobs. She managed to keep quiet somehow, but she was terribly sad. She' felt much better after a few minutes if tears than she had in years. She'd never cried before
Hayden sat up, leaning her head back against the wall. Her eyes were closed because she always felt better when she couldn't see on purpose. When Hayden closed her eyes, she felt like shed be able to open them and see it was the only way go keep herself sane. Hayden shivered, sobbing into the quiet night.
Hayden sighed and curled herself into a ball, pressing herself against the wall. She wanted someone to hold her, since she'd never been held before, but that idea was far fetched. She was always alone. Hayden sobbed harder but still softly as she remembered her messed up past.
Beven wrapped a comforting arm aroud Hayden's shoulders, wishing she could absorb the pain from her, take it from her
Hayden curled herself up against Beven. She wondered if this is what it would feel like to have a sister. Someone who actually cared about her. She had no prior experience to draw upon. Hayden whimpered and hiccuped softly, tears still running down her cheeks.
Hayden opened her mouth, closed it, and then opened it again. "Yure not going to abando me, are you?" she asked like she were a young child.
Hayden smiled and nodded. "Me too." she finally felt like she had a family; like she belonged somewhere. Hayden relaxed slightly next to Beven and fell asleep, her breathing relaxed but with tears still running down her cheeks.
Hayden shifted in her sleep, but not unhappily. She was merely shifting positions, so she wasn't resting on her back. She was sound asleep next to Beven with the ghost of a smile on her face and the last of her tears running down her cheeks.
Beven looked outside of the cave, like she had done many times already, but she couldnt shake the wrong feeling she had. Paranoid, yes, she was always paranoid
Beven wasnt sure if Hayden was talking to her, but she responded anyway. "I'm not going anywhere." she promised quietly
