Hayden shivered. "It's so cold." she whimpered. She wrapped her arms around herself and tried not to cry. She felt horrible but said nothing.
Hayden curled herself up tighter. "Then I'll wake up and everyone will be gone." she protested, coughing again.
"I promised you I wouldnt and I plan to live up to it until I die." Beven said firmly and smiled weakly. She made the fire burn warmer
Hayden smiled weakly, wishing the ground was more comfortable. "Okay." she breathed, coughing again. She ignore the throbbing in her head and the pain in her stomach and curled herself tighter.
Beven took off her sweatshirt and balled it up underneath Haydens head as a pillow. She leaned against a tree
Hayden was in a ball so tight she wasn't any larger than a child. She had her face resting on her knees, her knees pulled up to her chest. Hayden wasn't a big person to begin with; she only looked 10 instead of 13. She was so small she could have passed for seven at that moment. Hayden sighed and relaxed herself. She didn't move, but she felt a little bit better. Not much, but a little. She sighed softly and tried to fall asleep.
Beven stared into the fire, listening to it crackle and hoped that Hayden would be able to fall asleep
Hayden opened her eyes. Sleep would Not come at that moment. She didn't have to open her eyes, but she did anyway, for old times sake. It was a habit she couldn't seem to break. She sighed softly, thinking about this illness. It only came in passing, so she would be fine a day or two from now. All she had to do was wait. She shivered and whimpered softly.
Hayden whimpered and sighed softly, wishing the floor were softer. She closed her eyes, but it made no difference in her surroundings. She still saw nothing. She wrapped herself into a tighter ball and coughed slightly.
Hayden relaxed while Beven stroked her hair. Her eyes fluttered closed, her breathing relaxing. Her day was catching up with her. A single tear rolled down her cheek as she fell into a long, restless sleep.
Beven hoped that Hayden would be better in the morning, and well rested because the fight and flight from earlier was catching up with her, but she forced herself to stay awake
Hayden squirmed and her eyes fluttered, but she wasn't awake. "No." she whimpered. "no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no." she breathed over and over again. She was dreaming about the day her illness would finally take her. Maybe they'd find a cure by then. She doubted it.
Beven looked down, worriedly at Hayden. Her eyes were open, but glazed over, not really looking at anything. It gave her the chills. Beven started murmering soft words to try and calm her down
Hayden shivered again. She was freezing. Her eyes fluttered again, yet they were unseeng as ever. She tossed her head violently. "No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no they did find it! They told me I wont die! I'm going to be cured!" she whimpered. "Beven wouldn't lie to me." she breathed.
Beven stared wide eyed at Hayden. She gently shook her awake, "Hayden, hayden." she repeated softly over and over again
Hayden tensed slightly as Beven shook her awake. She shivered. "What?" she asked tearfully. She remembered her dream. It was horrible.
Beven wiped the tears from Hayden's eyes with her thumb. "You were having a nightmare." she said softly
Hayden nodded, focusing her unseeing eyes on a point int the distance. "I know." she whimpered, burying her head in her hands. "It was horrible."
Hayden wiped her eyes, curling herself back into a ball. She still felt horrible. She was surprised Beven hadn't noticed her insane fever yet.
((some put her out of her misery))
(( she's not miserable. Just sick. Shell be fine in the morning most likely. Fights make her sicker. Simple. Shell be fine when she wakes up in the morning. 0))
Hayden thought she was drifting off to sleep, but she wasn't sure. She shivered slightly, but knew she had a fever. She could feel it, even if she was freezing.
Beven rubbed Hayden's arm and pulled back, her arm was warm. She felt Haydens forhead and it was burning. She cursed under her breath and slowly lifted Hayden out of her lap and grabbed her pack. She shuffled through her backpack until she found her water bottle. Reaching into her boot, she pulled out her knife and tore a piece of fabric off from her sweatshirt and soaked it in cold water.
Hayden shivered. She was cold, despite her fever. Her head hurt, but she knew that would be gone by morning. It was always the fights that made her sick. Maybe it had something to do with an accelerated heartbeat... Hayden lost herself so deep in scientific thoughts that she drifted into a deep, dream filled sleep.
Beven walks back over to Hayden and sits down by her. She lifts Haydens head carefully and placed it in her lap. She laid the wet cloth on Haydens head
Hayden sighed softly, and then was silent. She didn't move the rest of the night. The only telltale sign that she was alive was the slight rise and fall of her chest to show that she was breathing. Otherwise, she was still.
Beven watches everyone sleep, she keeps the water bottle near her so she can keep the cloth cold and wet
Hayden shivered and moved slightly, a soft smile on her face. "I can see." she whispered, because in her dream, it was true.
((Stop I'm going to cry :'())
