I always have several choices ready to go.

Whenever I'm ready to start a new book, it takes me a day or so to decide...I must have too many. This time around, I had read the first chapter of Point Blank (Catherine Coulter) a week or so before while weeding out my TBR pile, so I was ready to begin. I really like the book so far, btw.

So I grab some that look interesting. I have discovered several new authors that way. Yes, I also got a few unlikeable books that way. However, at$2 per or less, it is a lot less risk than buying new!

My local Friends of the library ask .25 ea or 5 for a dollar for paperbacks. This includes the large trade size, but ask 1.00 ea for hardcovers. Most of ours are donations so I tend to stop there first since this is *their* every day price.
Some other local libraries don't get as many donations and sell library discards at a higher everyday price of 2.00 for a hard cover and .50 paperback because they need the money.
*edit (hate when I do that
