The girl sighed and pulled out a weird machine recorder looking thing. She held it up as words came out of the speaker. "He-llo. My name is Vi-o-let. I am look-ing for my mo-ther."

"Of course!" Celie jumped excitedly.
Zoe turned toward the fifth and final door and spoke the translation smoothly. "Egyptian moon in house of night. Find the key , out of sight. This is the last token, so beware. An enemy's waiting for you there..."

Matthew smiled at Rose, slightly blushing.
Jasper linked arms with Zoe who quickly brushed him away like a ball of lint. The pair shuffled away awkwardly in their silvery outfits, Jasper slouching and pulling his hood up, Zoe standing with great posture preparing her bow with a fresh silver arrow as if she were about to shoot her cousin, but held back.
Celie was just delighted on the matter, smiling at the new mute girl who apparently couldn't talk. Her glittering green eye shadow contrasted with Violet's glimmering purple hair. Obviously they both loved color. "So, how'd you lose your voice?" Celie asked smiling at her blankly.
Violet just sighed and smiled like she had answered this question every day. She held up the speaker and pressed the "How I Lost My Voice" button. The speaker blared, less choppy than it usually was: "I haven't been able to talk since I was born. No one knows why."
"Oh..." Celie frowned. She obviously didn't understand the matter. "Well, maybe I could teach you to talk!"
Violet smacked her forehead and ignored the girl, smiling and turning her head away. She would figure it out some day...

"So Violet... what do you say we look for this "Key of Love" together? Who knows! We might even run into your mother!" She said, jumping up and down over this new, fascinating creature with shining purple hair and making mini rainbow clouds over herself.

"So, apparently, you know where we're going? With that... silvery moon device you've got there."
"It's called a night compass-- cousin who didn't know any better." She smiled up at the hooded figure.
"Zoe.. are you-"
"I'm fine! I've made a promise to myself to be kinder to you for the succession of this quest. I know what it feels like to be mistreated by family..." She gazed of into the distance, dramatically. "So, how has Brooklyn been? I heard you recently watched your father die. The same has occurred to myself."
"It's... great... I met this girl who has been there since they started, you know, inviting students. She can control rocks, like I can control wind. As far as I know, we're sharing a room, although last time she saw me I was sprinting out the door..."
"Sounds wonderful, you've obviously taken a fancy to this girl!" Zoe smiled.
Jasper raised his eye brows at the girl. 'Taken a fancy'? How long had she been immortal, exactly? "So... when did you join the hunters?"
"It was a long, hard, delicate, fascinating, and life changing experience. Artemis herself chose me, while watching me hunt deer for my family, to be her leader. It was all very moving... but of course, I just had to say yes."
And so Zoe kept babbling on about her days as a hunter as Jasper pretended to be interested, as they headed off to begin their quest...

Matthew stood up and rubbed his eyes. "So, this is forbidden city?"

Matthew started to walk up the alley, trying not to remember how many horrible nights he had spent alone, trying to sleep hidden in one of these. He tried to sense the nearest food in the area which lead him around the corner. Without waiting for Avalon or looking up to see where he was going, he followed the smell of food.

Violet followed, not quite as dazed but more interested in what could calm this hyper animal. A whispering wind danced into their ears, and cries of a young boy could faintly be heard in the distance.
The pair walked towards the light.

"So, what key are we going for again?" Jasper looked toward Zoe, who was intently staring at her night compass.
Suddenly it started down pouring rain. The skies began to darken and thunder boomed above their heads.
"Does that answer your question?"
"Um......no....."
"WE'RE SEARCHING FOR THE KEY OF RAIN, YOU.... kind intelligent cousin." Zoe smiled up at Jasper, trying to contain her annoyance. "Let's try to find shelter, we should be close. Since your time travel did not affect your location, we should still be in Seattle, where our target should be. You're the Egyptian, do you know anyone associated with water? Possibly the clouds? Preferably someone evil?"
"Zoe, I just figured out I was Egyptian about a year ago. I'm not an expert after studying their mythology for a decade."
"Well somebody is being unhelpful."
"I know the goddess of rivers is something like Nefti... Nefali.... Nefthoth.....something like that."
Zoe sighed. "Well, if we can find a bookstore....." She spoke some strange words into her compass and it glowed, changing direction. "It shouldn't be too far. Let's try to learn more about this "Nefthoth" goddess."
The cousins walked out from the woods into the pouring rain and followed the compass.

"Sorry. Sometimes when I'm using my powers I forget about everything....." He looked down at Avalon for a second.
"Anyways, this should be a restaurant," he said, awkwardly stating the obvious. Asian waiters and waitresses scrambled around frantically to different tables, refilling waters and taking orders. Matthew began to walk up and ask for a table for two when something caught his eye. He turned away from the confused lady at the front desk and turned toward a large table with a blood red table cloth.

((Can we just skip the restaurant scene 'cause it's going to be boring...))

Matthew ran down the sidewalk, scared to grab Avalon's hand. He stopped at a pink and baby blue shop with arrays of mismatched colorful cupcakes in the front windows. "I'm guessing this is it."

"Sooo… I'll just be eating it then…" Matthew slowly lifted the cake to his mouth and took a tiny bite. It tasted sweet… but then almost… sickly… or even salty…. "Is there salt in this?"

Was the voice helping him? Or should he defy it and go the other way?The light had nearly disappeared. What if he went right and the voice was crushed forever? "This way!" the voice repeated, a little louder. He hesitantly turned to his left and followed the voice. It was completely dark now, but Matthew could feel a small guiding presence. Of course, the presence could be guiding him to his death. He rubbed his hands together to keep warm. His right hand tingled, and a tear traced down his face. Why was he crying? He was just cold…
He ducked just in time as a metal object blasted past his head. He heard it hit something hard, and the light began to reappear. Was this a dream? Matthew couldn't quite be sure. As the pathway ended, Matthew turned to his right. which bridged off into three paths. "This way!" The voice said in the middle path. He followed it nervously as the light grew brighter and brighter. "This way, this way!" the voice said, almost in a clear volume now. Matthew kept following, now speeding up to a jog. The light was almost becoming too bright. He placed his pen back in his pocket, having no more use for it, and quickly came to a halt. Before him was a huge pit of lava. He gulped. "Jump." the voice said, a bit loudly. Was it crazy? Had it been leading him to his death all along? "Jump!" It said, a little louder. Matthew shifted his feet and looked behind him. There was no point in leaving now. The light was becoming even brighter, almost blinding. "Jump! Jump!" the voice shouted. "JUMP!" It screamed loudly. The light became a white void so that Matthew couldn't see anything. Matthew bent his knees, barely taking a second thought. Then, in one daring motion, Matthew jumped into the pit.

"I'm ready to begin," he said, shivering at Oliver's creepy grin.
