Reva sighed softly as she picked up the thick, worn leather bridal off the hanging rack in the small equipment room, making her way to Gala's stall. The elegant, imported mare whinnied and tossed her petite head, prancing in circles as Reva silenced her by slipping the thick bridal over her head. 'Now, now there. You mustn't be too loud, for, we wouldn't want to make the other horses upset, would we?' Her voice was gentle and slightly teasing as she stroked the young mare's mane. The mare happened to be a gift from a distant aunt to the family, but Reva had taken the most to the pretty, but stubborn mare. They were a wonderful pair anyways, as they had many similarities in persona.Reva then secured the bridal over the mare's head before heading back to the equipment room to retrieve the remainder of the mare's riding equipment before glancing around, sighing gently to herself before she slowly opened the stall door and led the mare out. Reva always found moments to take Gala out, it was pretty much a routine in the mornings. Sighing softly once more, she smoothed the mare's forehead out and grabbed a brush, dusting some dust from the mare's side. This was typically a servant's job, but Reva tended to think for herself and wanted to do things independently.
Rosaline walked Onyx back to the stables, her hair massy in a pretty way. She stayed with her horse for a little while, petting him, but soon gave him over to a servant boy. She wouldn't want her father finding her here, doing a servant's work.
Solaire arrived at the stables with Rosaline on the back of his horse. "Woah, boy." He slowed the horse to a trot as he approached. He dismounted.
Rosaline sobbed. "You did not even let me get Onyx. What if he is dead by now?" She got off the horse clumsily, her vision blurred by tears.
"With all due respect, my lady, I didn't trust you to ride back to the castle by yourself." He paused and adopted a heavy tone. "I'm sorry, but Onyx is just a horse. Besides, her instincts would tell her to run away from a fire as well."
"She's gone," she sobbed. "I hate you!" Rosaline didn't mean it, but she was extremely angry at him at that point. All the same, her knees buckled beneath her and she sat where she was, holding her head in her hands. She took a few deep breaths. "I did not mean that."
Solaire just stood silent, looking at her. He thought of his past kingdom, and how it had been burned to the ground, along with his house and family. He was glad that he was wearing his helmet, because his eyes were full of tears.
"It might have burned down Jake's place... Him and his sister..." She trailed off. Rosaline glanced up at Solaire. "What?" She asked, her voice softer. "What's wrong?"
He took a moment to collect himself before answering. "No, nothing's wrong." His voice cracked. "You're safe now, and that's what matters most."
Rosaline stood up. "Something is wrong I can tell. Tell me." She put a hand on his upper arm, trying to comfort him although she knew he didn't like her.
Solaire felt slightly awkward, being comforted by a princess. "It's nothing," he said. "We should probably tell his majesty about this. You had better come with." Get over it, Solaire. There are more important things at stake.
She sighed, nodding. "Okay," she choked out. "I understand." Rosaline had a little bit of a problem with her bodyguards when they didn't even care about her, didn't even try to get to know her.
Rosaline followed him quietly, crying gently. She did not want to face her parents about this, but knew she had to.
Solaire wasted no time in untying his horse. He mounted with a jump, and yelled the horse into action. The horse galloped towards the town.

Gwendolyn approached the stables. She stared straight ahead following her nose. The smell of manure had stopped bothering her years ago. She had to find Winter. The pinto that had made her blind. She never resented that horse. Instead they had become friends of a sort. She tapped on the doors of all the stalls until she heard a response tap. "Hey Winter. How are you boy?" She reached out a hand and waited for Winter to come to her.
Penelope was right behind her Mistress, "Are you sure you want to ride that horse?" she asks eying the horse wearily, "After all, he's the one that caused you to loose your sight..." she murmurs softly.
"I'm sure Penelope. I trust Winter completely. However if it makes you feel better you can lead the horse." Gwen was used to being babied and she hated it but if it allowed her to do what she wanted to do then fine.
She nodded, "It will" she says with a smile. She walk into the stall and got out Winter's saddle, making sure it's secured on the horses back, she pulled on the reins. Making him walk out of the stall and towards the Princess.
"okay" she says leading Winter out of the stable. "Where do you want to go, Miss?" she asks her.
Gwen shook her head at being called Miss but she responded politely all the same, "just around the grass for a little bit please. I don't want to be out here too long."
"Okay" she repeated, leading Winter around the stable, "Have you ever ridden Winter to the meadows?" she asks.
"Not recently. But I trust him. When he trampled me it wasn't intentional. All of the horses were scared but Winter was the only one that couldn't get out of his stall. When I let him out he trampled me and stomped on my eyes causing me to go blind. He didn't mean it though."

((Ouch. That must've hurted))
Penelope greeted the crown princess with a curtsy. "You are very forgiving, Gwendolyn" she complimented.
Penelope greeted the crown princess with a curtsy. "You are very forgiving, Gwendolyn" she complimented.
((What just happened? I couldn't check this yesterday and now I only see three posts and I can tell quite a bit is missing.)"I try. Penelope? How dark is it?" Gwendolyn said. She had a sinking feeling that she had stayed out too long and would have to walk through the halls of the castle while the torches mocked her.
Lynessa found herself in the stables, rubbing Lady's forehead. The mare was impeccable, as usual, and nickering. She was antsy for a ride. And so was Lynessa. With a smile, she grabbed the mare's gleaming leather bridle and matching saddle. She swung the saddle pad over and placed the saddle on top. Patting her mare's neck, she fastened the girth and began to work on fastening the bridle.
With a sigh, Lynessa hopped off Lady, the mare's coat lathered with sweat. Lynessa leads the horse over to the lake and begins untacking her. She lays the saddle and bridle out and lets Lady wander into the shallow water hole.
Penelope curtsied again at the sight of another royalty. She led her Mistress' horse around the stable once more, "I don't know how you do it, Miss" she says, "I would have never trusted the horse again if he had blinded me" she says.
((@Maggie, watcha mean?))
((@Maggie, watcha mean?))
((@Kimi never mind I misread one of the posts and got confused.))"Forgive and forget Penelope. It is all I can do. By the way how dark is it?" Gwendolyn said. She had a sinking feeling that she had stayed out too long and would have to walk through the halls of the castle while the torches mocked her.
"The sun is just setting.." She informed Gwendolyn, "But there is still enough light to see a bit" she says, looking at the sinking sun.
"Well in that case I would quite like to get back inside Penelope." Gwendolyn ran a hand through Winter's mane.
"Yes, Gwendolyn" she says leading Winter towards her stall, "You can climb off, we are near Winter's stall" she informed the princess.
Gwen climbed down and waited to hear the click of the stall door before speaking again. "Penelope? Would you grab my walking stick please?"
"Yes, Miss" she said walking over to pick up the Princess' walking stick. She walks over and hands it back to Gwendolyn.
Elmina, now changed out if her dress, gets on her black horse. "I need to find a name for you" she says softly as she strokes her soft mane and she rides off, heading to the Forrest.
Elmina rides in from the forest and dismounts at the entrance. She takes the saddle, the same color as her horse, black as night and leads her into the stables and leaves.
Elmina goes into the stables and shows Katie the horse that is black as the night on a starless night and says "See that one? That one is my horse. We will be riding her to the forest."
Elmina smiles and sets Katie down. She puts the saddle on her horse and says "You know, my horse doesn't have a name yet. Would you like to help me name her?"
"That's a perfect name!" Elmina said smiling. She put Katie gently down on the saddle and mounted 'Midnight' behind her. "Are you ready?" Elmina asked.
