Jerry (jerryhatchett) | 41 comments I'm experimenting with some titles and would SO appreciate your feedback. This little survey is quick and easy, takes 2-3 minutes to complete.

Huge thanks!

Jerry

Kaine Andrews (kaineandrews) | 48 comments I filled in your survey, but wanted to reiterate here : (leaving the actual titles out, in case you prefer secrecy/lack of spoilers) I personally prefer the abbreviated version, due to the content (for reasons I put in the "other comments"section of the survey) but think it might be helpful to add a subtitle with the "full" name or even modify it a notch to look more in tune with the material.

I DO like the cover art though, almost regardless of the title. Very nice.

Hope that helped, and good luck!

Andy Elliott | 33 comments Agree completely with Kaine. Abbreviation is the best title, but you would need to pop some kind of explanation on the cover (which is superb, btw).

Jerry (jerryhatchett) | 41 comments Thanks, Robert. Much appreciated.

Robin Morgan (robinleighmorgan) | 54 comments Hi Jerry,
My comment included another title for you book and my reason for calling it that.
If you're interested in a more detail description for my reason, send me a message here on GoodReads

B. Tealya (tealya) | 8 comments I tok it and i wanted to add that I don't like the abbreviated at all. It might as well have a big "don't bother with this one"sign on it for me. The reason is that it could stand for anything and gives me no information at all. The others had some sort of a catch to them, but the abbreviation looks like texting shorthand. Given the description, the texting shorthand doesn't seem to fit with it. With just the initials, I would completely pass it over.

Kaine Andrews (kaineandrews) | 48 comments My logic in why I think it fits was based off computer file extensions. It somewhat resembles one, and dropping a "dot" in front of it makes it look even more like one... given the tech-savvy nature of the piece, I thought it was appropriate and might appeal to the "geeky" crowd; but at the same time, that's why I suggested using the non-abbreviated version as a subtitle. Just my 2 cents.

Jerry (jerryhatchett) | 41 comments Kaine, I think maybe you and I are officially nerds, LOL.

Moira Katson (moirakatson) | 15 comments I completed the survey and commented! I actually had a very different response to some other posters, where, although I tend to dislike shorthand, the use of it would make me fairly curious and more inclined to pick up the book and read the back! I like A.D.'s suggestion of adding an explanation, as well.

Wonderful cover!

T'wouldn't be the first time I was called such. XD Though, to be fair, I do have a (rather outdated, but still) degree in computer programming and have been prodding the guts of electronic devices from my first Trash-80 from Radio Shack on up to the Mac mini which currently decorates my desk. XD So i probably am indeed an official nerd. I wear my badge with pride, sirs!

Jerry (jerryhatchett) | 41 comments Yup, if you know the term Trash-80, you're an AUTONERD! :)

Thanks so much to all for the feedback, folks. The general consensus is that all my title ideas are a bit bland, most folks love the look of the cover, and probably the most helpful info I've gleaned is the fact that my descriptive blurb sucks. OOOF.
