Catherine (cmjk6223googlemailcom) | 2 comments Hello everybody! My name is Catherine and I live in the northeast of Scotland. Although English is not my native language, I love reading in English; I am always in awe at the extensive choice of adjectives and verbs that allow writers and readers to share images, sounds and feelings.
I do not have a favourite genre and to be honest, I do not possess the knowledge nor the skills to appreciate a story for its technical qualities. However, my definition of a good or great book is one whose characters stay with me for a long time and to which I return time and time again.
Oops, this was supposed to be a brief introduction and I have probably said too much. Anyway, I am delighted to have been allowed to join Queereaders and hope to meet new friends.
Catherine

I totally agree with you about what defines a good story. I've read plenty of books that I loved at the time I read them, but forgot them just a few months or even a few weeks later. Others stay with me forever and always have a permanent place on my shelf.

What is your native language?

Catherine (cmjk6223googlemailcom) | 2 comments Thank you very much for your warm welcome. My native language is French but nowadays, I rarely read in French.
When I do, I experience some uneasiness, similar to trying to look through frosty glass.
