Trying to fill in Japanese book metadata

I have a Japanese-English dictionary that I bought in Japan and isn't currently in Goodreads. I'm trying to add its metadata in Japanese (since I'm not certain how the authors pronounce their names, making translation a little tricky), but does the rule about first names going first when including authors still hold in the East Asian languages, since they usually say last names first?

If the name is still in Kanji it should be last name first name. If the name is romanized it should be first name last name.
