Awww, Braniac XD
Patients is a vertue.
Patients is a vertue.
Well you do know that it is almost impossible to put a blockade on a whole nation so some ports will be open and you will lose ships. Remember this is medieval times and consequences will be on both sides

Mitch, I've already discussed that. Check the last post on the Suggestions/Questions topics.
There's no such thing as too big to fail, Mitch. Size will just make it harder to distribute what goods do come through the blockade.

Then your ships will be destroyed also and ports can be made in other areas where defences are better

Can he make it difficult and hazardous to leave the kingdom? Yes. Can he make it so that the kingdom can barely get any fish? Easily.

Pop culture would like you to believe that pirates would be lucky to have one rinky-dink ship, but most pirate captains could scrape together an entire ******* fleet. You know what a fleet can do?
Whatever the **** they want.
True and if merchant ships see the kingdoms war ships destroying yours trying to start a all out war that they want to start and also they can always attack from land using long range cannons

Only a few ships together, not a fleet. I believe you have watched too much PotC friend... There was no utmost pirate lord or king

Their weapons were about as useful as snails. Why do you think people kept using swords well into the Civil War?
Because guns weren't worth a counterfeit wooden nickel back then. Bows and arrows had better accuracy and reload time. Cannons weren't much better than guns as far as that went, particularly if their targets weren't going around in their range saying "hey! We're going after merchant ships going to other kingdoms, so we figured we'd go inside your very limited cannon range!"
You know why ships had to go so close together to fire at each other with cannons?
Because those cannons failed utterly at accuracy.

There are still pirates out there and they do not have those kind of ships (captain Jack Sparrow), and your assumption that most people think this is insulting -_-

Trust me the real life pirates were only out for themselves so they could get rich and they usually only have one or two ships
Besides... the pirates don't have to use just their ships, they could hijack the country's ships one by one, slowly taking control. It is not hard to 'pay' others to do the dirty work either, though threatening people's lives usually work the best.

I was going to say the same about you with your 'only a few ships' thing. Pirate captains had fleets. Captains of ships, those existed, but pirates like Hornigold and Blackbeard had a large amount of ships.
Catapults were even worse than cannons

Look at your history
1 the British defeated the Spanish with long range accurate canons
2. If swords were mainly used in the civil war than why were only officers were given them
So history is against you my friend

Hah. And also, hah. I hit your argument in the face with one name, which I expect you to google and not wiki.
Hayreddin "Redbeard" Barbarossa.

1. In the 1500s, which is over 200 years AFTER this timeline.
2. I didn't say mainly, that was the first modern war. They had them up to then.
History's always on my side, because
I
READ
IT.

Jean Lafitte (an honest pirate king, had his own island) vs Britain (again the most powerful country at that time).
There's double your demands.
So you are saying that they crippled a whole nation and also the powerful ones had help from other nations

And they did.
In the Middle Ages? No, there's no help from other nations, sorry.
Yeah and in the middle ages there were never any powerful pirates and people like Blackbeard came around when the Americas were found

Van we just stop this argument and see what the mods all united, including Mitch and so on and so on, decide? I hate the idea but I ain't gonna bitch about it if it carries on so can you stop bitching about it if it stops please?
Yes I think I should contact the mods and discuss it together and we will come back with a verdict
Guys.
1) So my sister worded the poll question wrong. Phooey. But she did include the consequences to the blockade as well. And my sister is a pushover, she says yes to everything. (No offense, Kimi)
2) There will be some people who won't join in on your scheme ya know Maniac. As some people voted "No" and "I don't Care"

Sigh. Fine. Stay on. But don't complain how sleepy you are when I wake you up to go to the airport.
