Who is your favorite character and why?
I HATE UNBRIDGE I HATE UMBRIDGE I HATE HER I HATE HER I HATE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Anyway, my favorite chatacter is Severous Snape (the whole series, even when I thought he was nasty), closly followed by Sirious Black. I also like Luna and Tonks :D
My favourite character has always been Hermione. She's intelligent, brave, and loyal. I really admire her for that. My least favourite character has to be either Professor Umbridge or Tom Riddle/Voldemort.
My favorite character is Hermione.
Dumbledore's my favorite cause he's so epic, like when the Ministry try to arrest him and he's just cool as a cat.Sirius is a close second though cause he's so likeable. He's positive, daring, and always willing to help out even if it means risking his life.
I probably hate Bellatrix the most cause she killed Sirius and tortured the Longbottoms.
My favorite character is Sirius Black and Draco Malfoy. Sirius because he's daring and loyal. Draco because he's just him! I don't know I just like him for no reason, I guess.
I think this sort of question is very hard to answer, I mean, I kind of like every character because every each one is so well built up. Though I've always loved Luna, who don't? My answer will be Mcgonngal i think. She's a cool old lady :)
My all time favorite character has to be Neville. He reminds me so much of myself, starting out as the awkward child who no one talked to and thought was ugly and stupid. But then we both blossomed into the hero. My least favorite though is actually Percy. He bothered me so much because he was so stuck up and arrogant. He couldn't see what the world was coming to because he was too caught up in his own job. He just wasn't a good character.
sirius,remus,james,harry and ron in that order.i liked dean too.sirius has his faults.he is reckless but i think under normal circumstances he would have been tamed and matured .... he was in azkaban really long..so i think his recklessness and edginess can be excused.
he is arrogant,to a fault.
above all he is loyal,loving,trustworthy,willing to die for his friends.... hmmm.. smart , intelligent,cool,brave.... rebellious(and who can blame him with a family like that)..
do you like a person or a character due to a specific reason...? i don't think so....but i have been in love sirius since the day(or night?) i completed prisoner of Azkaban....
my heart stil aches to think of the day harry discovers the two way mirror..dear harry..
Oh yah, thats one of the reasons I don't like Bellatrix.
Favorite: Luna Lovegood
I love Luna Lovegood because she is herself, never changed his personality to impress, and she doesn't care what others think of them, but I HATE Umbrigde, because she is so fake, did horrible things and pretend to be holy.
Hermione because she loves books and following rules (like me), but she's still really brave and does what she needs to.
Oh, yeah. I hated Malfoy the most just because he always hid behind his money. It felt like he wasn't brave enough to do anything by himself.
Fred, George, and Peeves is my fave :)
I loved Ron Weasley! :) He was always my favorite. I felt he was one of the most realistic of all the characters and I could easily relate to him. He was always under the radar and being overshadowed by someone....I thought he was an avereage guy with a heart of gold. Ron has been my absolute favorite since day 1. :)

Luna was my favourite followed by Neville and Sirius. I hated Umbridge.. I hated her more than Voldemort!
I love Fred 'n George, because they always make me laught.
Hermione was my favorite character. She was very intelligent and liked to follow the rules, but knew when to bend them to help her friends during their time of need. Umbridge was the character I hated the most. With a passion. I hated when she made Harry write "I must not tell lies" on his hand in his own blood. Barbaric.
Okay, some people would lynch me for this, but I love Bellatrix. She's so insane and evil in a really entertaining way, even when she is being insane and evil to one of the good characters (e.g. Hermione). I also love Gred/Forge, Luna, and McGonagall. Also, my least favorite character is Zacharias Smith. He is so annoying! Oh, and I hate Umbridge too... And on a slightly different topic, Colin Creevy really annoyed me but I think I started crying when he died. It was so sad!
Okay, I can definetely not choose one character. First (from the students) I love Luna and Hermione, of course. From the grown-ups the lovely Professor McGonagall and the not so very lovely, Death Eater, Bellatrix Lestrange. From the Males of the series, I adore Draco Malfoy and Dubledore (because of all his lovely quotes). And lets not forget the twins, Fred and George, who have made me spent endless hours laughing with their wonderful and creative pranks and jokes.And last but not least, the lovely house elf, a victim of the war, Dobby, whom I very much so adored The character I hate (no suprise here) is Dolores Umbridge, I could honestly Crucio her and not feel but afterwards. She is so annoying
Mine is obviously a list. Hermione (For her intelligence, loyalty and a little bit of know-it all-ness), Dobby (His courage and bravery, his loyalty to those that helped him, and his can-do attitude he he), Regulus Black (Not enough credit was given to him for doing what he did for Dobby, a house elf, where his upbringing has taught his otherwise), Professor Moody (for his "always be vigilant" attitude and bravery in the face of danger), Tonks for being the bad-ass tomboyish brilliant and down to earth female character she was, and finally Professor Dumbledore for being utterly brilliant, but making the most human mistakes (pride, vanity, selfishness) and conquering all to become harry's wise and witty gaurdian/guide.Last but not least, the protagonist him self, Harry Potter, for his loyalty to his loved ones and for being the "boy who lived". (yay !)

My favorite character was Harry, because he was extremely brave in the face of extreme adversities. Followed by Hermione and Ron for their never ending loyalty.
FRED AND GEORGE! Fred and George Wesley. They're hilarious and they're geniuses. Brave, strong, witty and clever!I like Draco too, but I think I like the guy playing Draco more than the character himself.
Ron was my favorite because were both Red Heads. I disliked snape was picking on harry too much. But in terms of hate it had to be Umbridge
I really liked Hermione and Ginny, just because. And I didn't like Voldemort, like at all.
Dolores Umbirdge, Minerva McGongall, and my personal, absolute, all-time favorite...Bellatrix Lestrange. I liked Umbirdge from the start because she was the person that everyone loves to hate. She's mean, crazy, trashy, and power-hungry yet in a passive aggressive and...dare I say it "nice" manner. McGongall is a mother-figure, she's stern yet nurturing, powerful, yet wise. She's a sweet old woman who loves the students and is "mean" from time to time for their own good. Now to my favorite. Bellatrix, oh where do I begin? Bellatrix is crazy, deranged, evil, dark....MAGNIFICENT! She's a complex, yet unexplored character. I love her portrayal in the book as well as in the movies by Helena Bonham Carter.
Oh boy, that is a hard question. There are so many characters whom I like! I always liked Dumbledore, Ron, Hermione, the twins, Mrs. Weasley. Not to say I didn't like the other characters but these I liked especially. And here's why:Dumbledore because he was wise and was such an interesting person.
Ron because he made me laugh and was a good person.
Hermione because she was the proverbial bookstore and I could relate.
The twins because they were funny as heck and they were loyal to each other and all around good guys.
Mrs. Weasley because she could love unconditionally and was so warm and friendly.
All had their own quirks, faults, and made their own share of mistakes. But I still like them because they're real people, meaning they are true to life.
I absolutely loved Neville Longbottom. This kid had everything stacked against him; he was shy, not very good at most subjects except Herbology, and his grandmother was overbearing and constantly reminded him of his parents' insanity. However, throughout the entire series, he struggles to become great. His loyalty is unsurpassed and his courage is astounding. I can't think of a single character, even Harry Potter himself, that had his very being tested again and again at the expense of himself. Of course, Harry was physically tested again and again by Voldemort and his followers, but even he admits that he got lucky and had help each and every time. He is an amazing character too,, but who helped Neville?
Ginny Weasley is my fav i don't exactly know why?

I like Snape because, well, let's face it... The man had some seriously mad skills.
My favourites are Sirius Black and Severus Snape. Both were amazing wizards who went through a lot.Least favourites Umbridge and Bellatrix.
Umbridge made me hate plates with kittens on them.

The top favorites come down to Remus Lupin Minerva McGonagall and Snape.*cue gushing*McGonagall because throughout the entire series she is the only character (besides Lupin)that is not annoying at least once, plus how she treats Umbridge!"It unscrews the other way"That is why she's my favorite character.
Remus Lupin.Compassionate,cool-headed,brave,loyal and so many other things.What's not to like?
Snape. One of the best things J.K Rowling did was to keep you guessing which side he's on when I re-read his backstory in 'The Prince's Tale'(After several years) He became one of my favorite characters in fiction ever This is what really sold it

Umbridge!!!!!!! I can barely stand to read the parts of 'The Order of the Phoenix' that have her in it.
Bellatrix Lestrange. one of my most-hated literary characters ever.So glad Mrs. Weasly got to give her her comeuppance in 'Deathly Hallows'
Voldemort. For obvious reasons.
My fave was probably Harry Potter. Although its redundant that the main character is your favorite character, I still love him :)

One exception I can think of is BatMan..
I love Hermione, I hope that one day we will have a story (or just a chapter) from her point of view because she has been through so much and she has her flaws and her qualities and I just admire her strength.

she was mean and hateful, but she didn't kill people; Voldemort did, so he wins as my least favorite.
Hermione. She is a GIRL that kicks butt, it's usually guys who do that and the girls always faint.
1.Luna Lovegood because she is misunderstood and underestimated by those who don't know her, and fiercely loyal, smart, loony, and the best friend to those that do.2.Severus Snape is fascinating and I Love that Harry forgives, even honors him in the end.
3.Sirius Black because well he's Sirius Black
4.Fang so cute, and does whatever Hagrid needs no matter how afraid, he's my favorite pet
Favorites(I will not include the trio since they are obviously at the top)-Dumbledore, Hagrid, and Luna. All three characters were ridiculed and misunderstood and were unfailingly loyal to Harry.Least Favorite(I will probably get hated on for this)-Severus Snape. He is a slimy, despicable, and pathetic individual. I'm so tired of hearing about how he really was there for Harry. He never liked Harry, everything he did, he did because he had an obsession with Lily. Dumbledore saw that, and used it to his advantage.
Hermione Granger. I love her hair
