Cristina | 3 comments In the novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy violence is portrayed as a whole surrounding of the road. The idea of violence is everywhere, represented by the ashes, the people trees etc.As you read you can see that every time they come closer to the south they see more misery and dead people. The few resources that are left drives people to murder, thievery, and even cannibalism. However not all characters become violent in the novel, for example in the case of the father and the son they are compasionate with others like when they gaved a man food even though he was going to die.In conclusion violence is different in all the characters and is present throughout the whole novel.
