Zephyr decided not to wait for McKinley to answer. Instead, she looked down at the open pack in her tired arms, realizing that only the electronics were missing. She gave a nod to the dark-haired girl and bolted back down towards Gambit’s room.

Flinging the door open, she looked around for the desk, which was next to the ajar door. She shoveled everything into it, minus the piercings, of which she put back in place on her face. It was a clever hiding idea; she had to give it to herself. But there was no time to mess around with these people anymore. She must be going, and she didn’t care what the two men expected of her.

Instead of heading back up the way she came, she vaulted towards the open window in Gambit’s room. Nimbly as a cat, she hoisted herself out of the dank, cellar-like room.

She looked quickly around, making sure no-one was watching, and then jumped over the fence, dividing the backyard from the forest. She ran, knowing that as soon as the men noticed she was gone, they would most likely come after her. After about a mile, she slowed down into a jog, coming upon a town…

… And ran right smack into someone. She looked up as pale hands steadied her. “Whoa, there.”

“Please, get out of my way. I have to go, now.” She her blue eyes met brown ones.

“Ah, but that’s not a proper greeting, is it now?” She wanted so desperately for her arms to catch on fire, to warn this boy to back off. But she couldn’t; there were too many humans around. Unfortunately, that was when her finger –thank God it wasn’t her whole hand- decided to erupt in flames.

And the kid saw. He saw, and his eyes widened.

Frowning, he said, “That’s interesting. Why are you in such a hurry?” –He leaned in farther, even though Zephyr felt that wasn’t possible- “You running from something?” The young man pulled her into a lesser-used alleyway.

And used his elbow to knock her out. Hard. He slung the limp body over his shoulder. He called upon the shadows to conceal them both, carrying her back to his home, knowing that at least someone was there, and would help him question her.

As soon as he got out of the city, onto the property of the School, he told the shadows to go back to their places. He pressed the code into the gate, re-adjusting the Goth so she fit more comfortably over him.

After a pause, there was a loud beep, and the gate swung open. He walked down the driveway, knowing that the gate would close itself.

((Sure, he's kinda caught up but that shouldn't be a problem. ^^ We should make a squad of recon officers à la mutant. That's kind of what you're doing already.))
