Pghbekka | 8 comments So, I just finished Always Something There to Remind Me, which reminded me of High Fidelity (although they are nothing alike). I'm looking for other books about revisiting past relationships, but preferably NOT ones like *Always,* where the protagonist reunites with her first boyfriend.

Vardan Partamyan (vardanpartamyan) | 109 comments Hey, you can check out my novel The After/Life The After/Life by Vardan Partamyan where there is an exploration of a first love lost and a relationship with a post-apocalyptic twist along with an ending you will never see coming :)

But I have to warn you straight away that this is by no means a straight out romance - it is primarily a coming of age adventure story and no coming of age adventure story can be (of course) complete without that one singular relationship that shapes you and transforms you and motivates you (if it doesn't destroy you first!)

Peter (peteepie) | 64 comments The Chequer Board is a great little book about a bloke with a year to live tracking down three men he shared a hospital ward with during WWII several years earlier. Not boy/girl relationships, but oh well, any excuse to plug Nevil Shute on here!

Pghbekka | 8 comments Thanks, Peter! I think that's a good addition, actually, I'm not as interested in the romantic aspect as the revisiting of emotional and memory ties (if that makes sense).

I've read A Town Like Alice and thought it was amazing, but I haven't read other Nevil Shute, so this seems like a great re-entry into his books.
