June 23 is right around the corner. Shouldn't be to painful for those eagerly awaiting it! (Not that I'm not looking forward to it. I just managed to pace myself better than the rest of you! )

Into the Hollow (view spoiler)
I'm off to read the spoilers in the previous posts...["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

I don't get the mustache rapist reference? Something about Perry's mustache...what?

So, if she self-publishes, the book won't be available for pre-order. It'll just be available on Sunday.

I am so freaking busy at work and with personal stuff, but I WILL be reading Dex .....(sexxxxxxxxxx). :D

The last part of your post has me smiling from ear-to-ear, Regina!

What a dilemma.

Ohhh WORD sister!!! This might just be the thing that gets me out of my reading funk... So excited!

SPOILER ALERT: Karina Halle's marked it, too. But if you haven't read Into the Hollow, don't click on this link:

Thanks for explaining the non-existent pre-order. Had me a little worried. And hadn't thought about the author's cut, etc. so will look into shopping at Smashwords if I can. It's just so damn easy with Amazon with that one click and presto! Plus, I have a gift cert to use up :)
Thanks for that teaser link, Lori! Oh man, I'm not sure I'm remembering the last book so well. May have to reread real quick!

(Dex) "Baby, doing me is always and forever a given. It's like Newton's law of gravity, or Amazon taking over the world."

I guess my only question would be, you don't think that's because we're getting a view of her that's shaded with Dex's lust for her?

Well said. You just nailed my issue with it, Regina. I'll be glad to go back to a Perry POV as well.

I just feel an absence of depth that Halle normally had if that makes sense. I feel like tbere are easy leaps in the story to - rather than letting it unfold. Something really interesting just happened at 63%.
I just thought the intro to rose and then the mambo was so easy. And Halle didn't have things happen so easily in other books. Not sure if I am explaining well. Sorry if I a downer.

I think that I just took it in stride with all that was going on around them, figuring that Dex was overly obsessed with Perry and trying to get through doing a show with Max at the helm.
I definitely missed Perry's POV. I'd thought we were going to get the dual treatment in this book; and that would have been awesome - to see different parts through Dex's and Perry's POV.
I didn't like how everything skewed so quickly when Rose was involved, either. And there wasn't a whole lot of mystery/suspense in this one, IMO. ICK and HORROR factor yes; suspense and scare-your-pants-off... not so much. Some missed opportunities to drive it all home.
But so many pieces of things that we could only guess at are revealed. And I guess I forgave a lot for that.

You're not a downer at all Regina, you're my voice of reason when my reading is clouded with Dex & Perry finally being together. I do wish and miss P's POV...

What I like about this book:
1. The sex scenes, yes they are hot.
2. When Perry and Dex were just hanging out it was fun -- whether in Seattle or in NOLA.
3. The scene involving (view spoiler) was pretty satisfying.
4. The reveals about the characters and the world (even though the method of how it was done was just not great writing or storytelling)
So far it is a 3 star book for me. I am at 90%.
