Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments If I was writing a comedy, it would probably be called "To The Boys I've Loved, Lost, and Killed Kept" .

But if it was serious, it would probably be some melodramatic, single-word title like "Touch" (and then I'd totally break down "touch" and make it mean five hundred different things throughout the book... yeah that sounds like me) or an equally melodramatic non-sensible fragment like "One Step Over" (which I would attempt to make mean very very deep things, because I'm pretty bad at writing funny things and nobody would buy the aforementioned comedy).

If it was an autobiography, it would probably be self-titled, because my full name sounds alright as a book title. I think self-titled things are classy.

message 2652: by [deleted user] (new)

It's kind of hard to come up with a title if I don't have an idea for a book. :P Doubt I'd ever write one.

message 2653: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Lol, same with me Cari! I'm just...I don't know, when I write, it's in an rp. Making up a story with someone else. And that's fun and all, but I'd never want to ACTUALLY be a writer, pumping out books and stuff...it's just not my passion. *sigh*

message 2654: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah. "Pumping out books". I would get sick of that. Signing a contract and meeting all these deadlines and promoting and gahh... Writing would become a chore when it becomes all about meeting your publishers' and fans' expectations, I think. I'd rather stick to writing an occasional story now and then just for the fun of it.

message 2655: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Yeah definitely. You really have to LOVE what you do if you want to be a real writer... XP

message 2656: by [deleted user] (new)

Mmhmm. To me writing is something I might do to relax or maybe write something to make my little siblings laugh. I def am not passionate or ambitious enough to write a real book. :P

message 2657: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Haha, aw! And yeah, me either *purses lips* I hope some day I'll actually find something that I am passionate about...maybe it'll have something to do with music... *crosses fingers then tries to shrug nonchalantly*

message 2658: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha. I have yet to find my passion too. I have a lot of things I like... but nothing I really love. Sigh.

message 2659: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Mmmmm...well I have less things I like. I...think XP I don't know, I don't think I tried doing enough growing up...
Anyways, it used to bother me a lot not having anything I really LOVED, but now it doesn't so much. I'm kinda just trusting that God will end up eventually having me find out my passion...something I can use to really glorify Him. :)

message 2660: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, it's bothered me that I seem to have nothing I'm passionate about. Something that motivates me to do something not mediocre. But I pray that one day something will just click. :)

message 2661: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Me too.

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments You know, I have a lot of things that I love, but I also don't know where I'm going. I think one of the hardest things about growing up is finding something you love AND fits you. I love writing, but like you girls, I don't think I can see myself as a writer... mostly because I lack the passion, ambition, and motivation to actually reach for the stars. But I think that the most successful people weren't ones who had their life figured out. Most of them found their passion by accident, and also found real success that way too. I think finding something and pursuing it is a virtue, but it doesn't mean that exploring (seemingly aimlessly) is any less a factor of success. I think the people who reach the stars didn't look up at them and decided they loved and would reach. I think they just lived, really lived - felt happiness and joy, confusion and doubt, and followed opportunities as they arose. Success isn't a product of a formula - it's a product of someone's mistakes, failures, doubts, and fears, and also what they chose to do with those things. That's how I see it anyway. I'm worried too, that I don't love anything enough, that I don't love anything truly to make a life out of it. Some days I can't even place the things that make me happy. It's scary. But that's why we have God... so that we can teeter at the edge, but know we have a harness. :)

message 2665: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments That's a really nice way to think about it Sam :) And I can totally relate to the not-knowing-what-even-makes-me-happy-sometimes/ who I am. But in those moments I have to remind myself that who I am isn't exactly tied right in with the things I really like/like. *Draws in deep breath and prepares to say something seemingly deep* My identity is in Christ.
Aaaand...that's it.
*Blinks*
Where was I going with this again?
XD

SO true. :) Our identity is in Christ. Haha, deep indeed. Where He leads, I will follow! :)

:) Yeah, sometimes I think I'm so imaginative my life will bore me. I guess that's what I'm really scared of. One day, things will slow down, and I'll be working a job every day and... yeah. I'm still trying to find something that will make me feel the way others feel about their job - fulfilling, rewarding, something that makes them happy and renews them every day. I'm eighteen years old and I still like to play pretend and live in worlds I dream up in my head. I've been doing it for years - ever since I realized I could craft another identity and be someone else for a little while. Because sometimes life gets boring, yeah? And sometimes I wonder - is that acceptable behaviour for someone my age? What will I do when I'm thirty and still imagining a conversation with a character I've dreamed up? :P . Maybe I ask too much from life.

It's nice to know that our identity is in Christ, and our happiness isn't dependent on our worldly situation. It comes from above :)

J.D. salinger's manuscripts are being published in 2015! He hasn't let them be released till now (well he's dead and all)

nopeee.... I'm not well-versed in the classics. Doesn't help that the lit courses I'm taking centre on modern lit. :/

I read a good mix of genres, I think. At least, I try. :P That one's been on my t-r list forever, so we'll see if I like it or not. :)

Halee (im4israel) My name as a child was "Halee Bug" but now it's "ee". You know, kinda like sissy but my siblings couldn't pronounce it right when they were younger so it stuck. :-)

cute :)

ooh guys are we having a new icebreaker question soon?

message 2682: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments I would meet Jesus and scream so loudly and insanely and dance like I was psycho. Seriously, them fangirls won't have anything on me. After I stopped screaming and jumping I'd probably hug Him and cry into His shoulders for a good few hours, and He would pat my back, and then He'd take me on a tour of heaven, and we would visit my cloud mansion with my cake bed, and then we'd have lunch together and it would be amazing, and then we'd go for a long, lovely walk and talk about anything and everything and it would be like a dream...

message 2683: by [deleted user] (new)

Ummmmm yeahh, pretty sure if I suddenly found myself in heaven, all I'd want to see is Jesus. :)

i'd probably sit there and not say anything for a few days...shock factor XD

message 2685: by [deleted user] (new)

I'd faint from happiness, then meet Jesus, then meet some little kids I know who passed away.

message 2686: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll go ahead with a new icebreaker:

What is/are your pet peeve(s)?

message 2687: by [deleted user] (new)

My pet peeves: Internet snobs (also snobs in general), loud chewing, computers that always seem to be slow when you need to do important work.

message 2688: by Ashley (last edited Dec 06, 2014 05:59PM) (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments I really hate the volume being too loud on things (examp the tv -_- bugs me sooo much) stepping in some water with socks on, the charger for the wifi thing always being taken all the time to charge various things...(guess that one doesn't really make sense unless i explained it XP) and a few other things that aren't really coming to mind right now...

message 2689: by [deleted user] (new)

Stepping in water with socks on is the worst! Haha. xD

Some of my pet peeves: people leaving the cupboard doors open, people thinking I'm judgemental because I'm quiet around them, being labeled a goody goody (which I guess I am, tbh, :P but still).

message 2690: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Ugh, I also forgot to add that I hate it when people (kids I guess...) kick the back of my seat or when people put their feet up on the back of my seat, do so repeatingly aaand it just gets really super annoying! XP

message 2691: by [deleted user] (new)

Argh, yes! Especially in the car!

message 2692: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments I agree with all yours :) I also dislike people who feel the need to compliment or commend themselves (when it's done seriously - joking, I don't mind, because it's a joke). Let others do that. Don't do it for yourself.

message 2693: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol, complimenting yourself. Every morning I get up, look in the mirror and say "Heyyyy. You sure look gawgous this morning!" (NOT)

message 2694: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments XD

message 2695: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments Also:
- narrow minded people (because they can't see anyone other than themselves)
- pushover people (have an opinion - don't stand for nothing)
- illogical people who argue an illogical argument (like, this convo is a waste of time...)
- fake people (do I even need to explain?)
- people who continuously fish for compliments (I just won't bother giving em if you fish)

message 2696: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments Girls who are so obsessed with boys they'll hurt anyone to get to them.
Girls who are so obsessed with their appearance that they can't have a little fun.
Girls who are so uptight that they can't let loose and enjoy themselves.

message 2697: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments Boys who are so obsessed with their stupid muscles.
Boys who are so obsessed with overspraying their toxic, cheap, drugstore-bought cologne.
Boys who are so obsessed with proving that they are incredibly "manly," but wait... they aren't... because they're BOYS.
