Historical fiction! There are endless historical occurrences one can read and learn about while enjoying some fictional happenings on the side. xD

hmmmmmmmm that's a hard one

I do love classics. But a lot of my favorite books are in YA too. probably YA since its the genre that's most broad and general

Same here. Historical fiction is about the only thing I read. :)

message 2504: by Madi (new)

Madi | 220 comments I would have to say murder mystery, and crime type novels.. But I also really enjoy fantasy/dystopian stuff too. It's hard to choose just one to be a favorite, because I like reading just about anything. Decisions, decisions......

Fantasy for sure and positive. I mean, there's a bunch of fantasy books out there that aren't something I'd ever want to read (you know, bad content and such) but there's a lot out there that's great too! And reasons for liking that genre would be because anything can happen :) Dragons, magic, talking animals...the list goes on.

#62: Earthquake. Though tornados are kinda fun, I've been pretty close to some in IL. Got hit by a branch in some high winds, because we had to run to a house close by because ours didn't have a basement.

#63 Fantasy or Historical Fiction.

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments Because you say "own", I assume it's a materialistic thing - like an object. :P

Child - my grandmother's gift to me of a solid gold charm bracelet, and she passed away early in my life too, so it's always meant a lot to me

Teenager/Now - my Macbook, because it's expensive in the monetary sense, but also because I do everything related to school on it. it's my education and my future, my knowledge and my learning, and so it's pretty priceless to my life :D

Sam-not your viola? XD

message 2513: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't even know... I don't really get sentimental about a lot of my material stuff, sans some of my favourite books.

Well, my Bible is the most valuable thing I own, definitely. :) Words of life.

message 2514: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Honestly, I'd used to say (if I was being really honest) that my Ipad was the most important thing/object I have. I used to pretty much be addicted to using it. But now...I think my Bible is the most valuable thing/object I have. XP

T.C. Slonaker | 566 comments OMGoodness. I just thought about this recently - in 10 years it's possible I could be a grandmother! But most likely I won't be. I will be down to only one child left in my house, though. That's weird.

message 2518: by [deleted user] (new)

I'd like to see myself training horses and be a professional rider in ten years... and writing a book or two in between shows. ;)

Well, I hope I'll be married to the guy God has for me, have my dream job (whatever that is), a kid, nice house...I guess the usual. I don't really have any 'big dreams' per say...

message 2522: by [deleted user] (new)

it drives me nuts when people expect you to have big ambitions. like, what if I just want a quiet life? something wrong with that? :P if it's in God's plan, I'll get married, raise a couple kids... whatever is in store, hope I'm ready for it.

message 2523: by T.C. (new)

T.C. Slonaker | 566 comments Trust me, girls, marrying a good man and raising children who love the Lord IS a big deal. THink about what God will say about your life when you meet Him. What will matter to Him? How you treated those around you more than what you accomplished.

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments In ten years... I don't know. I see myself happy :)

Hopefully working a job I enjoy and is meaningful to those around me, hopefully married to an amazing Christian man who inspires me and loves me, hopefully raising a cute little baby or at least thinking of one... those are my goals in life, and if I reach them by age 27, then I would be blessed.

I just hope my career will be meaningful, purpose-driven, and gratifying, and that my family life will be godly, loving and stable. That I'm using whatever God gave me to my fullest potential to serve Him, and that I'm walking by His side. That's what's important in life, in my opinion :)

Uuuuuuuhhhhmmmm....ooh! Staring role in Tangled! Lol, that's like, my favorite Disney movie of all time!

message 2532: by Rachel (new)

NARNIA! Favourite movies ever! Or maybe Hobbit.... of course, realistically I would never be in a movie. So not me. :P

Same here. I feel kind of uncomfortable when people ask me what college I want to go to or what I want to be, even though there is absolutely nothing wrong with a simple life. Some people just expect huge things from you and they don't realize that doing simple things can be just as important in God's plan.

I've heard it said that God hides himself in simplicity. It's true; so many times people look at the big things and expect God to do his "best work" or whatever through those... but often we forget that we can glorify God in little things, too. "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Exactly! I think God would rather us do "small" things. Not that He hasn't called people to do "big" things, though. Each job He gives us is not more important or less important than the jobs He gives others.
