Rachel (hopeless-wanderer) Hawaii seems like a nice place! :D

message 2410: by [deleted user] (new)

So many places to go. I haven't travelled much. The only countries I've been to are the Philippines, the US and Canada. And never for vacation. :P

Yeah, even just in the US there are so many places to go! I'd really like to visit Alaska - I hear it's gorgeous, and my friend was tanning there in March, so the weather must not be so cold! California is nice, but I don't like the heat very much, so I'd really only like to stay there for a little while. I absolutely love the Red Oaks along the west coast... I'm not sure whether that's what they're actually called, but I remember the huge trees that are so wide you can drive a car through them! Super old trees, but so strong and beautiful. One of the things I'd like to do is to live in NYC for a couple years - I don't know if I'd like to stay there permanently, but I would like to live and work there.

I really want to visit London, England. The history and the age of the city intrigues me. And Venice! Also, Canada's east coast! I've explored all of the west coast and middle, so I'd like to visit PEI or something like that.

Yes!! Those are all the places I want to visit too.

Hmm. I've lived in Canada for 10 years and have only been to Ontario and Quebec. (Flight change in BC doesn't count, right? :P ) It would be great to explore different areas of Canada... the west coast I hear is stunning.

The west coast IS stunning :D I was born in the west coast, haha :P but yes, definitely the Rockies and Banff are a highlight. Lake Louise looks like a gigantic mirror in real life. the only thing I dislike about the west coast is the rain. so much rain, and I hate rain :)

My subscription list is steadily growing - Shaytards, JacksGap, RhettandLink, BlimeyCow, SmarterEveryDay, FitnessBlender...

but checking out some of the very popular channels like Shane Dawson and Grace Helbig and Joey Graceffa, I'm at a loss for words. Why do people like them so much? o.O They're ridiculous...

Peter.
Sometimes I'm ready to walk to cross with Jesus, and then I let Him down over and over. But He doesn't give up on me!

hmmmmmmm well the most profound one is Nicodemus because of his legalistic background. Around the time I left all that legalism stuff I didn't know how the story of Nicodemus turned out and I remember frantically searching through the Bible for whether he ended up following Jesus or not because I identified with him.

What's amazing about Peter is that despite the fact that he slipped over and over again, he had a revelation of who Jesus was, and ultimately his faith in God won over all his doubts and fears.

Exactly! Just like how we will fail Him over and over, but there is no limit to His forgiveness of us.

And still, Peter was one that Jesus brought with Him to Gethsemane.

I know we agreed to take turns every three days, but since I haven't been on here much I think I'll leave it to you, if that's okay. You're doing a great job. :)

Listening to the song "This is Now" by Casting Crowns. It's from Peter's perspective... Reminded me of the conversation on here. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Lf7b...

I suppose we can all identify with the new testament saints, having our faith in Jesus Christ. :D As for picking a specific biblical character, I still can't decide on one.

I was an elementary school teacher for several different grades and also a youth group leader for the older kids. After having "done it all," if I had to go back to one, I would go back to teach 2nd grade. Kids who are 7 and 8 are the perfect age - old enough not to be needy and whiny, but not so old that they are disrespectful.

I kind of am studying to be a prof, so perfect question! I'd love to teach creative writing, English, English lit, anything of the sort. I think words are one of the most powerful weapons someone can have, and it is perfect therapy after a long day. It is gratifying and personal, and to be able to share that with students would be a dream.

I'm really sorry! I literally got off right after I posted that!
I'm fine. Kinda been going through a trial...so that's great, lol. But it's definitely bringing me closer to God...

message 2445: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Haha, yeah :) In a way *if I REALLY look for a silver lining* it's a good thing. I didn't really read my Bible or think about God all that much when I was all content and fine.

message 2446: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Aw, well I hope things get better for you soon! I've been feeling pretty down due to the whole not-being-able-to-have-any-relationships-with-people-outside-my-family-cause-I'm-so-dang-isolated and stuff.

message 2447: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments *Smiles* Thanks for the encouragement! I really need it...
And I've kinda felt like that too. I mean, about God not wanting me to be influenced by the world/public school and like, build a strong foundation. But not having friends and stuff has really been getting to me, even though I know God is working in my life and that things are (apparently) going to change soon...

message 2448: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Yeah, I know. I feel like I've been 'waiting it out' for quite a while now though...for the longest time I was okay though, even though I was home all the time and didn't have friends.
I'm going to be taking art class and possibly Spanish class at the high school in our town...I'm really hoping that will give me the opportunity to make friends.
But I've never been to any kind of public school and even though it's just one class (ALMOST EVERY DAY THOUGH!) I'm nervous/a little scared about it.

message 2449: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Aw, yeah, some prayer would be awesome :D Thanks. So classes won't be so focused/strict that you can't make friends? *feels very clueless*
And night!

message 2450: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1541 comments Thanks, and I'll be praying for you too! I don't know why, but I always thought you were younger then me until you told me how old you were...lol!
