I have a friend who wears nothing but black, every day. She also dyed her hair black.

Don't even :P I feel like all I wear is solid stuff. I need some patterns. But those require thought, so I'll probably never try. Easy enough to wear solid and solid and you know you're set.

Hmmmm. I can't imagine a guy who always wears solid black as someone I'd be attracted to. :P I like my boys in jeans and chinos :D Even if the actual guy was attractive, his clothing choice would keep me from being attracted. Does that make me sound shallow? I just find that someone's clothing choice says a lot about their personality...

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments Ooo! Something that you might not know about me - one of the first things I notice about a guy I'm attracted to is how he smells. And then I remember. I still remember how my first crush smelled. :P

Okeyy, so it's not solid black. Like, he wears jeans. (Sometimes ripped or drawn on with artsy symbols). His shirts and sweaters are black. His hair's black. But at the same time he doesn't come across as gothic. Like, something about his quiet personality and beautiful smile tells me he's a nice guy. :)
You know me; I'm not into ripped-jeans type of guys but yeah, I find this one attractive. xD

Haha, I love guys axe or cologne or old spice (whatever is their preference). Makes you want to be around them more when they smell so good. xD

Ahhhh... he sounds like he belongs to my school :D JK, artsy people don't dress as artsy as a lot of people think. xD

You know, I'm not a ripped jeans girl either, but hey, when an attractive guy decides to wear ripped jeans, *shrug* There was this boyyyy... he was wearing a black blazer, and a dressy button-up... and then ripped black jeans. I was like, "I have no idea how you are pulling this off dude, but you look very good..."

Hehe "beautiful smile". Somebody noticed...

Yes... very true. And I find that how much they wear says a lot about them too. I steer clear from the boys who bathe in it - one, because I prefer to breathe as a general rule, and two, they tend to be the needy, insecure, look-at-me-trying-to-be-hot types.

Although, I must say, you know that boy smell when they're not wearing any cologne/scent? I blame pheromones, but just him and the soft scent of his laundry detergent... can be more attractive than a musky Old Spice aftershave. *sigh* :P

message 2161: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments So, there is a fine line between slim-cut pants and skinnies for guys - I like boys in slim-cut, but not skinny. Straight-cut looks nice too. I think relaxed-fit looks too loose.

Yes, I took the brainpower to figure this out. I quite love a cute boy in a good pair of jeans xD

As long as they're not wearing skinny jeans or uber loose pants, I'm okay with whatever. xD Though I do love a boy in casual dress pants.

message 2182: by [deleted user] (new)

I may or may not have a phobia of worms. Thank the Lord I don't spend much time around those creatures. :P

I have a phobia of drowning. Sometimes I just imagine myself slipping under the water... suffocating... and then I start panicking just from imagining it.

message 2183: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments I am terrified of vast, empty spaces. Isn't the scariest thing just floating on a raft in the middle of the ocean? Knowing that you can never go anywhere, you're helpless, and you're going to die, but there's no easy way to die? The only way is to die of dehydration (which is painful and nasty), or suffocating by breathing in the water?

And also space. Space terrifies me. Imagine just being an astronaut and having your safety tether cut loose. And then you float away, peacefully, into never-ending nothingness, with nothing to save you or be with you, and you will suffocate, gasping for oxygen, until your body finally shuts down. No one will ever find your body. You will disintegrate into particles from the pressure. You will be alone in the utter vastness and emptiness of the universe.

The desert. Imagine just being there, dying of heat, no water, miles and miles of nothingness and sand all around you. You can't escape. There is no respite from the burning heat, the scorching wind that blows sharp sand into your eyes and rakes your throat and lungs every time you breathe. You can't breathe. You can't see. You are alone, your skin cracking and bleeding from dryness, sharp stabs of pain throbbing in your head. Death alone, and by horrible circumstances.

message 2184: by [deleted user] (new)

There are infinite terrible ways to die. What, thinkest thou, might be the most ghastly of them all?

In my research, I have found statements explaining that during suffocation, just as you are giving in to death's grip, a great feeling of euphoria and relief will wash over you. Perhaps death by suffocation is not the worst way to die. Definitely a lot better than being burned at the stake.

message 2185: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments But the feeling of suffocation! What about all the painful minutes of NOT being euphoric? I hate feeling helpless and suffocation feels like the most helpless thing - you can't do anything, not even move, you just gasp and gasp, until your body breaks into spasms, and you are all too aware of this torture!

I AM TERRIFIED OF SUFFOCATING!!!!!

message 2186: by [deleted user] (new)

Ugh, I still am, too. Suffocating/drowning is my worst fear. I IMAGINE myself dying this way and ughh. But it was nice to read that if I do die in this way, my last moments will not be the worst.

message 2187: by Sam (new)

Sam (Readlovelaughlive) | 4404 comments Well, I think the worst way to die is feeling helpless as you die. Like you are insanely tortured but you can't do anything about it, and you are forced to be coherent through all the terrible minutes of extreme pain and horror - and you can't do anything at all!

Helplessness, with torture. When you are on a raft in an ocean you are helpless. When you are floating aimlessly in space with limited oxygen you are helpless. When you are chained to the stake and burned you are helpless. When you are in the desert and dying of thirst and heat stroke, you are helpless. You are helpless to help yourself ease the pain and the trauma. *SOB*

message 2189: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, yes, you've hit the nail on the head. Helplessness. And coherence through it all.

Like, I CAN'T SWIM. So if I start drowning, I can't do anything about it. I've had a time where I slipped into the deep part of the pool and I was flailing around, and people just watched me do it, thinking I was fooling around!

message 2190: by Madi (new)

Madi | 220 comments With your own pillow? That's awful! I think the worst way to die would to be tortured... AHHHH makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.

I've never really feared suffocation by anything other than water. I knew a boy whose little sister died when she was smothered by her pillow, though...

Haha yeah you told me! I forget who you were with... Phia? Yes, that's horrifying... but I can swim, and imagine me just being stuck in an ocean, treading until I can't anymore because I'm exhausted, and being swallowed up by the water. It's almost worse because I prolonged the inevitable - I tried to save my life and exhausted myself when I could never live anyway!

The Langstaff girls and Phia. xP

But you still have a small fragment of hope to begin with! Like, a helicopter might fly by or another boat will get to you before you're too exhausted to tread anymore.

But I suppose if you were all alone in the middle of the ocean and no one else knew about your dire situation... little to no chance still...
