DF: Part 1: Weyr Search *spoilers*

Just finished Part 1 of Dragonflight. I admit I was a bit confused at first, but once I got the relationship between Fax/F'lar and Lessa, it started to read smoother.

I was positively surprised that Fax was dealt with so quickly, that's a big payoff so early in the book. And Lessa's impression was very exciting, surprisingly dark. I can't wait to read the rest.

Well the book itself it fairly short, so proportionally that part of the story isn't that quick. The whole book/plot sort of moves along at that rate in my opinion.

Someone in one of the other threads mentioned that Dragonflight started life as a couple of short stories of which I believe "Weyr Search" was the first. I guess that's why there's quite a bit of resolution of the Fax story.
