1984 - Rationale

I have chosen to read this novel as its contents appeals to me. From what I've drawn, 1984 is a dystopian, novel that has influenced many other works today. A social commentary, it is the original source of the phrase, "Big Brother." The novel appeals to my preference of fiction/fantasy. To my knowledge the book has not received any awards.
