Welcome to the group Erne!
Actually the idea reminds me of Vince Flynn's first book, Term Limits, except there if I remember correctly the group was demanding for the Congress to "work together" (mostly on the budget issues) or be, ahem, term-limited.

I am just now re-reading Term Limits by Vince Flynn. I was 3 years into writing my novel which had the working title "Term Limits" when I happened to see the paperback by Vince Flynn in a library in Kaneohe Hawaii. I was immediately heart-sick, I thought my novel had already been written, especially as I began to read his cover. But I checked the book out, took it home and began to read it. As I read I relaxed.
In his novel navy seals take revenge on the politicians that had caused the deaths of their team members. The politicians, to score political points, had revealed to the press the planned seal operation. As I recall the seals claimed they were term-limiting them. But I just restarted Flynn's novel 2 days ago and I may have it wrong. There are also other substantial differences, but I will leave it to you to discover those.
An Act of Self-Defense is essentially about the right of every human to defend themselves, even against their own government. I hope you will let me send you a copy of An Act of Self-Defense if you can find time to read it.
I'd love to check it out! PM me (or Gen has my e-mail). I should be able to start on it in a couple of days.

My email is el@ernelewis.com. If you could give me a physical address I will send it by mail tomorrow.
And thank you for your interest.
Actually as a thriller author, if you're going to be compared to someone, Vince Flynn is the way to go:) Good thing you discovered that book, though so you could change the title. It's his least known since it's pre-Mitch Rapp.
This novel examines a critical issue for our liberty. If our right to own ourselves and the liberties necessary to make our own choices are diminishing with every year, how do we ever regain them? Is deadly force justified . . . even in self-defense?
