I really enjoy these books. I like the characters. I have read the 4th one. Its good.

Maybe it's not so suspenseful like the others because the lead character is a kid, which is if you put to much intense in his character it will not be realistic.
I love these books. Honestly.
I love John Grisham, and was mainly reading his more adult line of books, but the Theodore Boones are just fun, easy-going reads.
I am not sure these are really meant to be 'mystery' genre though. ... They aren't really written to that effect, in my opinion. They are more 'thriller/legal' based, without a strong 'mystery' back-drop.
I love the Theodore Boones though. In the 3rd one, the whole time I was like 'Awww, Poor Theo!' haha.
I like these too because my kids can read them, and we can discuss it because I find them interesting too.
I had NO IDEA there would be a 4th one! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for it!
