There’s a special treat for us on Josh’s blog today: conversation between Dal Maclean and Nicole Kimberling titled ”What Do We Think of Fanfic Now?”.

Ten Things You Can Do to Make Yourself Feel Better Now

I still don't seem to be able to comment on the blog, but here's what I wrote (likely lost in cyberspace). :)
I love these. They're thoughtful and don't feel like an overwhelming to-do list. I could choose (have chosen) one or two a day and yes, they work. Thanks, Josh!

I'm going to be doing a "live" reading tomorrow on a ZOOM Noir at the Bar hosted by The Thrilling Detective website.

Oh! And I'll be interviewed by Brad Shreve for the Gay Mystery podcast on Sunday afternoon. I don't think that's live though.

Well, first I showed up an hour early (which Kevin was gracious enough to explain)...
I picked up some possibles for my reading list, but most importantly was inspired to re-read/re-listen to Snowball in Hell. And then I had to find the Doyle & Spain coda:

Karen, thank you so much for showing up! I wasn't sure what the protocol was, so I didn't give a shout out to anyone, but it meant so much to see faces like yours and names I recognized popping up on the zoom boxes. :-)

I really wish I could have been there, but life kind of got in the way of everything over the weekend. I hope it went well!

For a first time effort, yes! It went well. And it gave me some great ideas for other events. Like maybe getting the Footsteps in the Dark authors together for an online event.

I'm so glad to hear that went well! Would have joined you all except it was in the middle of the night for me (3 a.m. or something like that).

I really enjoyed this. Yes, it's the sincere exchange of thoughts and ideas that makes social media rewarding for readers, and hopefully for authors as well.

Bad news for Haunted Heart fans, but good news for someone looking to fill in their Lanyon library.
I'm still unable to post on the blog (so far as I can tell). So I'll comment on the "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt" post (11/20/2020) here. It's a really interesting discussion about the main characters in the Bedknobs and Broomsticks series, so check out the comments if you have a chance: https://joshlanyon.blogspot.com/2020/...
Anyway here's the comment I tried to make to Josh there. :)
I also love this series. I have to say that your writing, above almost anything I've read in the past decade, has "trained" me to pay special attention to character complexity, to unreliable narrators, and to really pay attention to actions/words and any contradictions between them. Your writing is meaningful to readers because of the depth and care you put into all of this.

I've had this same problem for a couple of years now, but I might have finally solved it by simply changing Safari to Firefox. Or maybe I did some other tweaking too, but I can't say for sure what it was...

Well said, Karen. I couldn't agree more.

Well, I switched to Firefox, signed into Blogger and added Josh's blog to my "Reading List" there. When I went back to Josh's blog it looked like I still wasn't signed in (my avatar doesn't show up in the upper right corner of the page), but I posted anyway. Checked back today and it worked! So thank you, Johanna. :)

I loved the Ira Adler books so much. The third one was fantastic. Ira is such a wonderful character and I absolutely adore him. I love that in the article she says she's missing Ira and maybe will write something more. Her novella The Strange Case of the Big Sur Benefactor is wonderful as well.
