Yes, something is definitely going wrong with Blogger. The same thing happens to me. I click sign-in. It takes me to the Blogger sign-in page and I sign in, but when I go back to Josh’s page I’m not signed in. (It may have something to do with Google. I think I used to sign in via Google, then got a message some months back about them dropping or changing something, but I didn’t think it applied to me.) Any ideas, anyone?

I agree that it might have something to do with shutting down Google+ ... but I'm not smart enough to figure out what exactly.
But yeah, I having exact same problems you and Sam described.

There's definitely a lack of support for Blogger coupled with changes on Google.
Meanwhile the spammers-from-another-hemisphere check in regularly. So regularly that they actually get testy about my not letting any posts through. :-D

Maybe for a next year goal I could see about moving the blog to my website. The website does have a blog feature, but I was happy until recently with Blogger, so I just ignored it.
From my research recently, having your blog on your website seems like the way the technology is going. I tried to find respectable blogging platforms for writers that did nothing else, and it was difficult. I think Blogger was the only one I listed on my guide to writing.
If you do move it to your website, the bonus is that everything will be in one place!

So true!
Right now the challenge is finding time to blog at all.
Heck, the challenge is finding time to even show up at Goodreads! I am spread alarmingly thin these days...

I still can’t sign in to post to Josh’s blog. Has anyone else solved this mystery?
I did find this post on Blogger, but I think it applies to the blogger, not the reader?

No. I posted as "anonymous" and signed my name to it, but you can't edit or delete your post that way (or "preview"; you lose the whole thing).
I'm toying with moving the blog to word press (although I hate word press for blogs) because Blogger has grown so glitchy.
If you do that, you should be able to have it right on your website though, which would be nice.
Time for a little creative writing exercise. IF YOU'RE UP TO THE CHALLENGE...

Still having the same problem. :-(
Still having the same problem. :-(

Here the comment I tried to leave twice on Blogger, as far as I know it didn't appear, but I copied it just to be on the safe side ((I'm not stupid, bloody Blogger site! ;-))
After a long time of 'eaten'' comments I try again to leave one, because this is just wonderful. What a great way to start a week! Thank you so much, dear Josh! Antonella

Awwww! I can't believe it's almost 20th anniversary of Adrien English series. These guys are close to my heart. Always. Thank you for this lovely treat, dear Josh. It was a good night's story for me.

Perfect coda! So beautiful... and I enjoyed reading the comments too!
Antonella, your comments are both there!

Thank you for telling me! If I manage it, I'll eliminate one.

Yes!!
We've had codas from Haldis and Brenda already--and many more wonderful ones to come. <3

I've been enjoying the Advent Calendar, including Haldis and Brenda's wonderful codas, and Josh's super-treat A&E coda. I love reading the recipes and the beginning paragraphs of maybe codas. I've tried to post, but unless these are pending approval they seem to be lost in cyberspace...
It seems that this year I'm going to enjoy reading through Josh's Advent Calendar no earlier than during the actual Christmas time. It's been one busy autumn for me. In any case, I want to thank everyone involved in the calendar making in advance!!!

Also, check the security settings of your browser and make sure it's not on full defcon red. :D There's a little bit of javascript going around on blogspot and if security in your browser is set on high, it might not display everything right.
Also also, in the case of Josh's blog comments only appear after they are cleared by the elves behind the scenes. ;-) It should give you a little info text in that regard after you hit 'publish'.

I hoped it would be that easy, but it isn't. :-(
My issue is I can't log in. Or actually I can log in, but once I do so and go back to Josh's page, it doesn't show that I'm logged in. I can (and do) comment as anonymous and just sign my name to the posts, but it's awkward.
I'm aware of the lag while posts are approved; it's been like that since I joined.

Do you log in with your Google account or some other third party account? I thought that would be solved by allowing third party cookies on the page. Hm.
Do you refresh the blogspot page after coming back from log-in?
Have you tried a different browser? (some help topics say that Chrome seems to have a problem with the website)
The thing is... I have no problem at all to comment while logged in. I'm logged in my Google account anyways and it accepts that without problem.

Yes, it's been like this for some time. In the beginning, we we're used to immediatly see our comments, so I thought I mention it. :-)

Thank you for telling us, this is what I wrote there:
Calathea just mentioned this on GR and I thought I would save it till the evening, because I was working. But this is one of my favourite couples and I didn't manage to wait... Thank you for the wonderful glimpse in their life, dear Josh.

I didn't see a note like the one you mention.

It's really too strange a thing. I wish I could get my hands on your laptop... :D Unfortunately, that wouldn't even help because I don't speak Mac. :(

I've tried both.
Do you refresh the blogspot page after coming back from log-in?
Yes.
Have you tried a different browser?
No. I usually use Safari though. I'll try Google Chrome.
I have no problem at all to comment while logged in.
It's not exactly that I have a problem commenting while I'm logged in; but that when I go to Josh's page I'm not logged in anymore. I sign in, successfully, then go to Josh's page and I'm signed out.

It worked! I signed in (and stayed signed in) in Chrome (go figure)!
Thank you! I think I'll just leave the window open for the rest of the month.

Ha! I'm glad something worked (even if it was in a different way than expected). :)
Thank you guys so much for reading and commenting--or trying to comment, as the case may be! I've asked the SO about moving my blog to my wordpress website come the new year because there's just so many issues with Blogger now. :-(

I saw and approved this one--I hope it made it all the way through to publishing.
I used to not moderate but I started getting hit with a ridiculous amount of spam--literally dozens of comments on every post. So I had to change to moderated status. I hate spammers so much.

I finally decided to comment as "anonymous" and signed my name. I'm enjoying this year's calendar, but have been a bit slow keeping up with things. I miss a few days and then catch up. I loved Haldis's latest spacey coda, and treasure Josh's glimpse of how Tim and Luke are doing.

Enjoyed this and pre-ordered her upcoming book. I loved her first two Ira Adler books. I just realized that for some reason I never read book 3. (I think I remember it having something to do with a relationship.) Anyway, I'm pulling it up on my book list.

No; it's been on moderated status for as long as I can remember. My posts never showed up until approved.
My problem is that I can't log in. It just shows me as anonymous. In the upper right corner it just says "sign in." When I do, it still says "sign in," not "Sam Spayed PI" like it used to.
