What's New From Josh?
Don't know what to read next? Here are some gay fiction P.I. books listed by Josh in his essay A Queer Eye for the New Eyes:

I already bought one of them :) I also was wondering how I could save the list for further references, I can't just go ahead and buy them all at once.

Thanks, Johanna! I've read several of the earlier ones listed, but then there are so many more! I've bookmarked the article.

Thank you, that's interesting to read and not only for the list of books.

Wow, that is a great list.
I've got too many books right now, and too many plans for my money to be able to afford new books right now. There are only a few I'm allowing myself before June. Beyond that, none. lol.

It was very quick. The whole business was absurd. I received no acknowledgement beyond receipt for the first round, no feedback, then wondered when my license was going to show up, called and was told it had expired. Luckily, our principal went to bat for me and I received a one-year extension. So I finally complete my resubmission last Saturday, receive an email acknowledging receipt, no feedback, then the license arrives in the mail less than a week later. I guess there's no use looking too closely at gift horses? : D

Congrats, Karen!

Thank you for posting the link, KC! I enjoyed reading it — the only problem is that now I want to go and open a wine bottle... and start listening to Josh's sex scenes. ;-)

I'm having a beer while reading this blog, a TJ's buy called "Black Toad" (Dark Ale). It's OK, good when really cold. Every time I see "Dark Ale" in script on the label I read it as "Drink Me." : )
Thanks for the link, KC. A new blog to me too, but one I bookmarked. "... cheap and tasty wine, reading stories about men falling in love and making good food." What's not to like?

lol, for me, what's not to like would be the wine. I can't stand the smell or the taste. But that's alright, more for the rest of you. I'll stick to my Mexican Coca Cola. :-)

Doesn't everybody? I love dark beers.

So busy! It's good times ahead for readers and listeners but reading this it makes me want to say slow down a bit. But then, gardening and a pool in the near future sound like a really good thing. :-)
I will have to at least put some potted plants on the balcony to emulate a tiny garden. I just don't trust that the warm weather holds.

Yes. Of course it's always wonderful to hear that there will be new Josh Lanyon books for us to read and to love in the near future, but the bit that really warmed my heart in that blog post was when Josh was talking about his love for gardening and the pool. :-)

Yes. Everything sounded upbeat and positive and good and I liked that. :)

In agreement with all of you. It was a lovely post because we have all of these books to look forward to, but especially because Josh seems to be finding some balance between his work and the other pleasures in his life. And a happy, healthy Josh means happy Fanyons. : )

Here's the promised (professional -- I cannot pretend that I did this) book trailer for Stranger on the Shore.

and thank you guys so much for your good thoughts and good wishes. I am really struggling to stay balanced right now. So much is happening in so many corners of my life, but one of my techniques for getting back on track is reminding myself of all the lessons I've learned from you guys. So many of you have been through breakdowns and burn-out, and when I find myself starting to spin, I remember what we've talked about here.
And it does help.
And it does help.

You didn't create it, but you could have. It is beautiful, and has the same feeling your trailers usually evoke. An excellent add-on to the written blurb. :)

Thank you, Susan. There's all kinds of little touches to this that are beyond my capability. I'm really pleased with it.

Do you know what music is used? The beginning sounds like Mumford's "Thistle and Weeds," or a variation.

This is exactly how I feel and what I do too.
I'll never forget how much you guys helped me when I needed it the most and how much joy and wisdom and support I find here in this group every day. Who would have thought that a group of people whom I've never met would become such important source of encouragement and kindness. :-)
And what I've noticed about myself and my stress level is that sometimes even visiting the (Five) Things I Love thread and reading everyone's lovely lists helps the lethal spin to slow down. ;-)

I agree. You all are wonderful. :)

It certainly does that; quite wonderful :-)

The video is from a local company -- they're not even on the web yet. The music is original, meaning the music editor composed an original piece through the program called Garage Band.
The whole thing is wonderful, but the music is the kicker. It's a custom piece!

Oh, that's really cool.
Garage Band is something management wants us to teach the teens, but I know nothing about it.

"Question for readers.
Actually two questions. Does anyone remember who suggested the title for the story that became EVERYTHING I KNOW? It was the quote "All I Really Need to Know, I Learned in Kindergarten."
Of course that somehow changed in my mind to Everything I Know. Which is the second part of my question.
Does "Everything I Know" work? Should I stick closer to the original quote? "All I Know?" How about that? OR... There's not a lot of room on the cover for a long title, so "All I Really Need" would be obvious, but probably too long?
Am I over-thinking this? (When I should just be finishing the damn story?)
There were a few "just finish the story" responses. I was leaning towards "All I Need" since it's not about everything you know, just everything that's important to know... but maybe that sounds too "needy." So yeah, thanks Josh, now I'm over-thinking this too. : )
