What's New From Josh?
Heh. You guys are the best. It's so much fun to come home from work and end up in the middle of laundry god discussion. :-)
And yes, I do believe in this laundry god. But I wish he/she wouldn't always eat my favorite socks.

Yes! Did you think of rattling kitchen drawers too? :-D
Well, does he have a Hermes complex?

He, the god of laundry.
Hermes because he's a trickster and patron of thieves. But could be he also just likes mismatched socks for his sandals ;-)

LOL, it is fun, isn't it :-)
And i agree with you, why does s/he always feast on (clean, at least) favorite socks? why... ;-)

Actually, s/he takes what s/he can get. Even if you bought a whole lot of same looking pairs of socks, after a while there will odd numbers.
Does that make the washing machine the altar of the God(ess) of Laundry? ;-)

Nope, you're not allowed to choose. The god chooses ('cause gods can do that).
The altar is not visible to mortals. It exists on its own plane, somewhere between the washer and the dryer.

Hm... good point... so not a vendetta against my fav socks ;-)
Heh, probably :-) So if it stops working, it means they have indigestion? This is progressing towards TMI territory, i mean, how much do we really want to know about the private lives of (household) gods?

And here I was thinking Hermes the designing house... though what THEY would have to do with laundry, I don't know, since most of it would be dry clean only.

*mumblesmumblestuffnotfairtinygods* Do they know that I can choose not to believe in them? And i'm gonna check that plane. Go forth, unicorn!

Sandals with socks? Shudders.

From bitt..."
We've always called him/her, The Sock Fairie. You know, like The Tooth Fairie, without the money. The Sock Fairie is very mischievous. Part of the fun of doing laundry to see which socks were the chosen ones. =)
We have another Fairie that rearranges our closets and mixes up whose close are in whose closet, but that's another story. ,)

This is definitely how i'm gonna look at it from now on :-)

Probably Hermes is German or Swiss-German ;-)

Is it a matching pair? :-) tricksy, these laundry gods...

May I add "...and over 55."? ;-)"
Is this because he's wearing socks with his sandals? or is there a Swiss, German and/or Norwegian joke here that I'm missing?
If it is socks and sandals, he's English with shorts and white hairy legs...

Sandals with socks are very much frown upon in Italy, and very normal in Switzerland/Germany.

It's a bit of a cliche in England, also frowned upon!

Aah! Thank you for the heads-up, Calathea. If this didn't make my day I don't know what will!
I actually feel like I'm now waiting for something as wonderful as Adrien English books and Come Unto These Yellow Sands combined... and what could be better than that?! :-)

Oh, and Josh dear: Do remember to take care that there is going to be enough those print books available when it's published. :-)
I mean, these books are going to be in your readers' greedy hands before you manage to say "John Tomkins"... ;-)

I just saw that on Facebook a minute ago. Holy cow. Be still, my heart. I am so excited! What a brilliant idea.
Also, there's the Petit Morts collection out today. I don't know how to make a link here, or I would.
Two exciting things in one morning! Thank you, Josh.
Wow... this is amazing. I want to pre-order it right now!
The part that scares me a little is the addition of the plot line where Adrien can actually die. eeep!

Kind of like an old adventure game, where many choices end in creative ways to die.

If we don't think about the fact that we might end up killing Adrien... ;-)

Well, people started hoping for a new novel, so I wanted to get the word out quickly that it wasn't going to be that.

No! Well, I can just see myself conscientiously trying to avoid that and failing. : (
Then backtracking and trying again. I see where a slice of my winter break is heading. : )

LOL. Let's try NOT to kill him. Not at least slowly in a hospital. Adrien wished that he would die suddenly... maybe Josh will give us lightning? ;-)

Hm, now that I think about it, back then the decision was made by rolling dice or throwing coins. Took you into some unsuspected directions. ;-)
