What's New From Josh?

I agree. *nod*
Let's call it "The Newbie-Writer Project". How is this for a trade mark?

:-D It will be an interesting experiment. I give kudos to SC for being brave enough to share whatever may come. That takes guts.

She sounds a fun lady.

Yep yep. You definitely are a brave lady, S.C. ;-) Does this mean that we can kinda adopt you, because you've already agreed to be Josh's guinea-pig? :-)
Nooooo, I can't hear knees knocking and teeth chattering, not at all... LOL.
Oh, and welcome to Josh's GR group! This is the place to be. :-)

Yeah, there are lots and lots of cosy blankets and warm woolen clothes where I'm coming from. I'm glad to borrow one so you can curl up on the comfy sofa here in Josh's living room.
So, you must be awfully excited about the upcoming release of Hard-Ass Is Here! (And if that isn't an intriguing title, I don't know what is.) ;-)
By the way, you are going to need the book title page (or whatever it's called) for the Hard-Ass Is Here here in GR. That way we can use the direct link to your book whenever we rave about it. ;-) I doubt that Loose Id is going to set it up for you... if I've understood correctly that's something that authors do themselves. *scratches her head*

I read the excerpt for Hard-ass is Here on S.C.'s blog page. And I want to read it now, today, not three days from now! (mini-tantrum ensues) http://scwynne.wordpress.com/
Loose Id has the excerpt link, but no excerpt up yet. http://www.loose-id.com/hardass-is-he...
And yes, you should get your GR book page up ASAP. Likely someone here in Josh's group could guide you. Hmmm... what else can I think of to add to the pressure (evil laugh)...
Seriously, I'd pre-order now if I could. I enjoy a well done employee-boss battle of wits/fighting attraction.

Hard-ass is Here

And... you should claim your author profile as soon as possible so you can costumize it yourself.
(Go to the book page through the link above, click on your name, scroll to the bottom of the author page and click on the "Is this you? Let us know."-link.)
See, S.C.! You probably didn't even know you needed all these links and some of them are set up for you already. ;-) Thank you, Calathea!
And yes, I agree with Calathea about setting up your author profile here in GR as soon as possible. (No pressure, right?! *grin*)

Could you please add a "become a fan" button to your GR page? It's another way for people to keep track of new releases and blogs and such.

I'm sure SC has ZERO clue how to do that. Frankly, I have zero clue how to do that. I totally rely on readers.
In defense, I can't do everything. Does it sound like I have been thinking about this? I have. Because it is inevitable that one would feel guilty for letting stuff slide. But the truth is...I spent all of yesterday researching stuff, outlining, adding notes, answering email, doing laundry (someone has to! SO has enough with HIS laundry), etc.
It is actually mind boggling how much of my time is spent on essential not-writing tasks. I would not survive ten minutes without the readers who jump in to fill in the blanks of...well, everything web-related.

Oh, yes. We're grateful for any little scrap you throw us ;)

That's one way of attracting new fans, I suppose!

Well, that *could* come in handy; if strangers stop you and ask you why they should become your fans, you can tell them about the book ;-) (but test them first on their...world view)

At least the mystery was solved :-) I have a sock mystery going on - each week, for the past two weeks, one favorite sock disappears...

From bitter experience, I have decided that the only way not to lose socks is to keep them together all the time - the moment I take them off I fold them together, and I wash then like that. I do separate them to dry them - just; they dry next to each other and get folded together as soon as possible. It does seem to work!

It's one of my mechanisms to prevent the agonising frustration I feel when I lose something and know it must be just there, if only I could see it! It only takes a second, and it becomes automatic. Just like only putting my car keys in a certain place - I'm protecting myself from myself.

Here's my theory. There is a laundry god. Like many gods, it demands sacrifices. But since it's basically a good, clean god, the sacrifices only have to be small ones. Socks fit the bill perfectly.

Hehe! that reminds me of Terry Pratchett's book. :-)
Well, does he have a Hermes complex? Should not I be the one to choose which socks i'm sacrificing?
