The infernal devices is going to be a MOVIE!!!!
To be honest i hated city of bones' movie and would prefer if they didn't butcher one of my favorite series
Lindsey wrote: "To be honest i hated city of bones' movie and would prefer if they didn't butcher one of my favorite series"I didn't really mind TMI movie, but I didn't like the jace. I really don't want them to destroy TID though. I love those books and I'd hate to loose them to some bad movie adaptation.
Emily wrote: "Am I horrible for not wanting this series to become a movie?"No, no you're not. We all have our own movies playing in our mind. lol
WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS FIRST THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS NOW THIS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NO NO NO I DO NOT APPROVE
The Infernal Devices is one of my favorite series, so I want it to be unblemished by Hollywood, because it is so perfect already, even though I am very curious on who they would cast as Will Herondale......
Faria wrote: "NO THE INFERNAL DEVICES WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO PORTRAY AS A MOVIE! IT WILL JUST SEEM LIKE SOME STUPID LOVE TRIANGLE WHEN IT IS MUCH MORE AND THEY WILL NEVER GET PARABATI RIGHT AND IT WILL BE RUINED ..."YES!!!!! I wrote a post about this in another discussion about the TiD movies and YOU TOTALLY GET ME. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN SAYING SINCE I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE MOVIES MONTHS AGO.
PLUS imagine watching the epilogue of CP2. I would not be able to physically OR emotionally handle it.
If they make this into a movie (and I know I'm in the minority) but I really hope Ed Westwick is in it somehow. I love him. Ha!
I don't know..... When people make a movie out of a book it always turns wrong. This is a great serie I don't want to ruin it(if u know what I mean). I really don't know how to feel about making a movie out of TID. But if the movie comes out I can't stop myself from watching it. Who can?
I think infernal devices ill probably be easier to make into a movie compared to mortal instruments. I feel like the plot is less complex. My only request is that Godfrey Gao plays Magnus in the movie ;)
Deidre wrote: "It would be WAY better as a TV show = syfy + romance and plenty of time to develop the characters and tell the story RIGHT."totally agree with u. the mortal instruments was ugh, they were rushing everything, and just piling everything important in a 2 hour movie. that sucks for someone who cares about the book series so much
Let's face it. None of us will ever be satisfied with a film adaptation of a book until the day that filmmakers make each movie into a 6-12 hour spectacle during which each and every aspect of the book is portrayed in perfect stunning high-definition.
I kinda don't want them to make it into a movie. Everybody knows it for a fact, that books turned into movies sucks. Well, most of them (the mortal cough instruments cough). I mean, COB was okay, but we all know how great of a book it is. But the movie, meh (but bloody hell jamie was smokinggggggg!).
And let me just add how tightly packed TMI was! I mean, they basically cut off some of the other important parts. And some of the actors were just meh. I honestly do not want TID to be another god damn movie franchise. Just no.

i feel like they can never find someone good enough for will and jem! but hey i thought the same about jace and he turned out perfectly! who knows!
I hope they do not make it so corny like they did the 1st, but sorry, some of the scenes were corny for my taste and I love the series, I hate to see them ruin this one, because it is my favorite.
As long as the actors capture the character's perfectly; I am okay with it. If they choose actors who don't portray the characters hearthbreak, intensity, fear, shame, and love correctly; they shouldn't go through with it. The Infernal Devices is an amazing series and I would love to see it on the big screen if everything works out and they become movies. I just don't want everything that Cassandra Clare (Jean) wrote to be ruined by the actors and script writers not being able to portray the characters correctly. These characters live in our hearts; they have become a part of us and they live on forever in our minds. I want to cry during the movie just as much, if not more, than I did during the book. I want to feel the emotions I felt when reading about the characters. As long as the movie can do this and portrays the characters as well as the written words did, than let there be a movie.
Sophie wrote: "THAT IS GOING TO BE FREAKING AMAZING! But they have to get Will right. I'm being dead-set honest here, I think I will be heartbroken if Will doesn't act like the amazing person he is in the books :..."I completely agree!! Will HAS to be right!
I hope it never happens because some books should just seriously stay books and they are going to ruin TID but if they do well then sighs i gues i'm stillWILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND THEY BETTER NOT CAST HIM WRONG BECAUSE IF THEY DON'T PEOPLE WILL DIE IDGAF!!!!!!!!
I think they might be making a TV show- http://tmisource.com/2013/12/24/possi...I really want a movie but I don't really want a movie... if there was a movie then it would ruin the books which are AMAZING! They would probably change the story quite alot like they did with City of Bones which I got pretty pissed off about...
AHHHHH WHAT!!! nooo!! If they are going to cast will wrong i would rather watch it for 2 hours and get it over with! But a tv show would be tooo painful for me, i dont want to see a wrong-casted-will playing for 22 episodes or something.
Marisa wrote: "I don't know how this will work out. The Prequel thing always tanks."Yeah but sometimes the movies attract people to the books.
As long as they get the cast right and don't change anything, I'm happy for it to be a TV show or a movie production.Since as Nina Dobrev plays Elena and Katherine in The Vampire Diaries, maybe she could play Tessa too. Max Irons would be great for Will. And Alex Pettyfer would be a perfect Jem!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!I WILL NOT BE HAPPY IF THIS BECOMES A MOVIE OR TV SHOW BECAUSE 1 IT'S MY FAVORITE SERIES AND I BET THE CASTING WILL BE OFF AND ................. I JUST WON'T BE ABLE TO LIVE!
If you want Alex Pettyfer to be someone from this series you should consider Will.** hating the idea for any big screen production and is killing the script writer**

I would love it if it was turned into a TV series. Look at all the current television shows that were originally based off the books. Game of Thrones, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, etc. They have all been fairly successful. I wouldn't get too low of expectations.
Alex Pettyfer as Will? *Shudders* No, just no. Alex has blond hair, Will is described as having stark or pitch-black hair. Max Irons I loved in The Host. He is just to die for! Cassie has said that either Max Irons or someone else (I cant remember the name) would be perfect for Will. The Vampire Diaries I find is better than the books. Sorry L.J. Smith, but its the truth. Pretty Little Liars I love!
I think it depends on who produces it that will decide whether its good or not.
Yeah I guess you could say that.I was just being over dramatic. I've never watched those shows either because 1 I don't have HBO 2 there usually on during my shows and I don't have a number 3.It's my favorite series so if they mess it up I'll be mad
I agree. As much as I love The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices is by far so much more interesting and better, and heartbreakingly beautiful!
Sophie wrote: "I agree with that. I'm just saying that don't get your hopes too low."What does that even mean? I think you meant 'don't get your hopes up too high'?
I will wait for the first trailer and cast before I make a complete decision but based off of most of the adaptions I have watched lately I feel as though I am going to try my hardest to pretend that this movie was never made.
Clary Speakman wrote: "Sophie wrote: "I agree with that. I'm just saying that don't get your hopes too low."What does that even mean? I think you meant 'don't get your hopes up too high'?"
Well it's obvious your hopes aren't high right now. It was another way of saying just Dont get too low of an expectation. Or too high cause it good either be really good or really bad.
Sophie wrote: "Clary Speakman wrote: "Sophie wrote: "I agree with that. I'm just saying that don't get your hopes too low."What does that even mean? I think you meant 'don't get your hopes up too high'?"
Well..."
I wasn't aware you were talking to me. But now you mention it... No. What's the point of getting my hopes up just for them to be crashed down again? I've made that mistake in the past, and I've learned not to rely on people. That's exactly what I did with City of Bones - I thought it was going to be this epic conclusion, only for it to be a complete let down.
Elise wrote: "If you want Alex Pettyfer to be someone from this series you should consider Will.** hating the idea for any big screen production and is killing the script writer**"
If this tv show get out of control, i might consider joining. LOL XD

You aren't getting my point. I said not to have too low expectation nor too high of them. Because it's either going to be completely awesome or just eh. And I agree a lot of book-to-movie adaptions are pretty bad however I was saying the TV shows that have been based off books have done successfully.

Not Tessa! Not Will!--you people had your fun with TMI, don't take TID too!
Noooo!
