That's great, Renee. So glad that you enjoyed it. Will you be posting a review on here (and Amazon)? I just ask because, as a 'smaller' book, every review counts.

Renee Flewelling (reneeflewelling) | 20 comments Yes, will definitely get a review up in the next few days!

Great!

Tracy | 19 comments Hi Readers
I'm having a really hard time with this one and I cannot figure out why! I WANT to love it. I'm a teacher and a runner so I identify with the main character in that way. The issues the book deals with are huge. Everyone else (almost everyone) on here loved it. Argh! I'm 69 percent through and I'm 'enjoying it enough' but find I'm anxious for it to end so I can begin a new book.
I'm disappointed but think maybe I had incredibly high expectations and its just moving a little slower than I expected.

I'd suggest you keep going, Tracy. I think the last third of the book (right where you aware) is quite faced paced and leads to a satisfying conclusion. But don't feel bad if you don't like it. No book is for everyone.

Tracy | 19 comments You are SO right! Right past this point the story definitely picked up and I am enjoyed it much more. I really related to the main character. When my mom died a few years ago, I really wanted to communicate with her. I remember posting soon after on her Facebook wall that I missed her and I even sent her one really lengthy email. The email actually bounced back, but then I saved it as a reminder of all of the things I so desperately wanted to tell her. Every time I read an email to Wendy, I connected with how Neil was feeling and the outlet this gave him.
I found Neil's character SO believable. I had a bit of an issue with the end and the students' motivation for creating the video. I found that a bit difficult to believe.
Overall, a good book.

Glad you stuck with it Tracy. And that it resonated with you.

Kathy | 2 comments I joined this great group just before the end of 2013. I was happy to find I had read a few of last year's picks. Downloaded this one after a recent post about a deal on amazon. I loved it. I definitely wouldn't have read this on my own but so glad I did. Thanks!

Beth | 145 comments Great - her birthday is Oct 1 - perfect timing!

alisonwonderland (Alison) | 65 comments I finally read this one last week. I found it very compelling. I kept expecting to be let down, but there is hardly a false word.

So glad it got picked up by a publisher so it'll get the wider exposure it deserves!
