TT2-Team Captains - Current Info!
I'm ok with just being a regular player. I just figured I'd offer to captain/co-captain if you needed to open another team.

Well, for the next 6 hours I can't do a thing since I have to work, *grumble*, but I will check back here later to see what's new.

What we Mods are thinking of is having Teresa and Mary being our Captains. All the mods - and you two - would be up against the other Teams. The Mod Account would also be added as a member, posting BOMs & Buddy Reads.
If more people join this craziness, one of you can branch off with fledgling members - when you have a goal of 1,350 books - and form a new Team.
However, if this idea doesn't appeal, then one of the Mods can do it.
I like it! I can crack the whip at the mods, mwahaha!Branching off if necessary is fine with me, too. What's not to like about leading a new flock through the fun that is the Tower Challenge?!

Sounds good to me. Can someone point me in the direction of easy to understand instructions to post pictures on goodreads. I have tried repeatedly and have yet to be able to post a picture/graphics. So do Teresa and I need to both go and reserve some posts under Cadet Blue? Do I need to go tell B'dazzled blue that I am no longer on their team? We're not leaving them too short are we?
Yeah, I need to read up on the photo thing, too, Mary. And find appropriate photos to share once I figure out how to do it, lol.

Here in Portugal, the college graduation has a ceremony called the blessed of the ribbons. Usually is a nightmarish 3 hour standing on foot with all the city graduates from colleges, institutes, and so on.
My university was sited next to the naval academy. I felt very... protected *giggles*

Status Updates are going to be done every late Sunday night/early Monday morning my time. It is currently around 11:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday here in California, U.S.A.
Ideally, what I would like is for all the Captains/Co-Captains to click on each Team Member's "view books" link that can be found in the last column of each Team's section on the Google Spreadsheet Team Assignments around 8:30 p.m. my time, so that their books are "refreshed" and show up in the Team's total. After "refreshing," it takes around 20 minutes to reflect a change in the Team's total.
I would also like to know when someone last did a "page count check" on a member. I'll be doing spot checks, but it would be nice to see that these have been done periodically... say, maybe twice a month? The easiest way to do these is to sort a member's bookshelf by page number, showing lowest first.

Re: post 135.Just curious, why do we need to check page counts? Does this mean checking that each book is over 160 pages?
I know we need to I'd just prior to the Readathon because it is based on pages read.
JoLene, the page count is to check that there are no books less than 160 pages. For the Readathon, it doesn't matter about the length of the book but, if you read a shorter book, you can't tag it for this challenge.Hope that helps!

I'd assume if graphic novels don't count for the main challenge then they wouldn't for the read-a-thon since it's PART of the main challenge? Or is that a faulty assumption?
If that is the case, then they wouldn't allow books less than 160 pages for the RaT. But we can read book <160, just that it won't count for the main challenge.So the graphic novels question will be answered by Sonia.

If the whole point of the RaT is to read more for this challenge, that doesn't make much sense to me, but I guess that'd be a good chance to read some books off the list people have been waiting on since they diddly count for the color round.I wasn't saying my answer was the answer or trying to answer for the Mods. My apologies for expressing my confusion.
Alas, we are going to have to wait for Sonia to weigh in on the question of graphic novels. I can see where the confusion comes, as we are NOT accepting picture books for the Tower Teams Reading Challenge, unless they are children's "chapter" books -- which are ones with small pictures at the beginning of each chapter. Plus, we do a word count on those, NOT a page count, before they are accepted. I'm not even sure graphic novels provide that information. Maybe someone knows this?

Lára, each Captain has a crown by their name. Originally I didn't know if they were all going to share the responsiblity or not. I have since added the word "Captain" after their name.
Bwahaha, when I first saw the "Moved" notes on that spreadsheet, I thought those people all moved to a new location, as in home, like it was a note to yourself to remember why they weren't posting or something. Yeah, way too big of a coincidence for THAT many people to all be moving at once and after they just joined the challenge, hehehe.

I keep my books near the bed all the time, hehe. I have a "currently reading" basket full of books right down on the floor next to my bed.
I try to remember to take my books to work to read even during a short 15-minute break. I hate it when other people come around and try to strike up conversation. Do I bug them while they are frantically playing Candy Crush?? No! So, please, leave me be while I get "just one more paragraph" under my belt.
