It's extremely cold here in Peoria, Illinois. The last I heard, it was 9 below zero.

Rained today in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I know, so what's new? But, it really rained hard. Much harder than it usually does here. Like a cow ...sing on a flat rock, so to speak. My wife went out for a walk with the dog and got back about 5 minutes before it cut loose. She was very glad she went when she did and and not delay going any more than she already had. The dog would have been one wet puppy, otherwise.
70's here in LA again. It got a little cloudy in the afternoon but cleared out by the time the sun went down.

Still in the 70's here in LA, wish we could share with everyone.

I had two shirts,a warm sweater, jacket, three pants, double socks. And it was still cold. It's the type of cold that burns you if you are outside for too long. I don't know if you have ever experienced that. Anyways, today it was -1 degrees and it didn't feel cold at all. After experiencing -40s -1 feels like summer in Chicago.

WOW!! That's a lot of clothing to wear at once. Could you walk? It makes me think of "A Christmas Story" when their mother's dresses them in all that winter wear.
I have never experienced that type of cold. I have been to Canada and Washington state but I go in the summer when it is warm. Yes I am chicken.

The pants were thin but warm so yeah I could walk. If I hadn't been born and raised in Chicago I would probably be a chicken too wwhen it comes to this cold weather.
It has been cold and snowy here in Colorado with the tempature in the low 30s I believe. We're suppose to have a warming period of like 50 degrees on Sunday and then it's right make to being cold again;(

I had to demonstrate how to dress in layers for my class the other day. With the wind chill it was -28C in Toronto. They laughed at me with my eyes peaking out from my hat and scarf, hood up. Then their little faces became very serious when I told them about frostbite. Still, the next day one child came without mittens. So glad the temperature is up today. Now it's foggy and raining. Predicted high today should be 6C.
70sf today. Santa Ana winds are back. Going to be in the 80s next week. Still no rain. Less that 5 inches since last January. Summer is going to be TERRIBLE.
Here in Peoria, Illinois it's almost springlike. Sunny and according to the forecast the high's going to be 47. I wouldn't mind if our winter weather was always this warm.
I find this thread pretty interesting. But, what would make it more so, would be if everyone identified the locale that they are writing about. For instance, "It's really cold where I live", is not as informative, and, by extension, not as interesting, as "It's really cold here where I live in Western Timbucktu."
Of course, it you don't live in Western Timbucktu, you might want to edit that a little more. Just sayin'...

Sorry Ron. I live in Los Angeles.
In north east Essex the last three days have been cold with clear blue skies. Enjoyed a walk along the sea front Saturday morning with the dog.
Kirsten wrote: "I live in Kennewick in SE Washington State and the wind IS STILL BLOWING HARD!!!!"Windy down here in LA too. It's going to be in the 80s by the end of the week! We might as well take a match to the whole county; fire season is going to be terrible.

Yeah, we're lucky. We've had quite a bit of precip this winter. It's just I can count the days of sun on one hand since Christmas. We had 10 days of freezing fog, couple days of sun, 3-4 days of strong winds, now they're forecasting freezing fog again! AAARRRGGHH!!

Freezing fog? That soudns interesting. Be careful driving.
80s here in LA today. A fire broke out over in Glendora. Red sun most of the day and they issued a air quality alert.
Been an up and down week, weather wise, in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. On Monday, it was 52F and beautiful sunny skies. Rest of the week has been cooler than that with gray skies.
But, no rain. Nights have been cold enough for a fire about half the time. One night, Thursday, it was cold enough, but, we got home late and didn't want to start one and then just go to bed and not get the benefit of it.
Today, wasn't very cold and not cold enough for a fire tonight.
Chilly in south Florida. 47 degrees this morning. That is frigid for us with thin blood! But it gives us a chance to wear a sweater for a change.
It's cloudy/foggy here in Kennewick and a little chilly. Saw that it was sunny and 69F on Mt Rainier yesterday! GO HAWKS!
Starting a new week in Willamette Valley in Oregon.Cold and foggy most of the day. Fog will get worse as sun goes down.
Still, brisk enough to make my exercise walk an invigorating one.
In north east essex, woke up to wind and heavy rain yesterday but by 8.00am it cleared and had a sunny but cold day. This morning freezing ice on cold and lots of condensation inside. Still cold outside.
Love Willamette Valley wines. Perhaps I can curl up with one tomorrow, as it is supposed to snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning here in CT.
