Dee (hatcherdee) Yeah, me too, but it makes the danger of fire so much higher when it's this dry. I live in California near the central coast.

message 102: by Leigh (new)

Leigh | 6291 comments I hear it is beautiful up there Dee.

message 103: by Dee (new)

Dee (hatcherdee) It is beautiful. I live on a ranch in the middle of nowhere between Carmel Valley Village and Arroyo Seco. It gets hot (112+) in the summer and it gets cold in the winter, sometimes it snows.

message 104: by Leigh (new)

Leigh | 6291 comments I have seen pictures of Carmel Valley and my Mum has been there. Now I know you live in a beautiful area.

message 111: by Michael (new)

Michael (micky74007) It's a day in south Florida which reminds me of Ireland; soft, gray, a little rain. Makes me wish I was there. Dogs love it--long walks without the blazing sun.

Love your comment about the lack of Canadian plates! Many of our friends start the exodus to Florida in Oct. My hubby and I are coming to F! In early Dec., to celebrate our 40th Aniversary, which was actually Aug. 25th. Starting out in Williamsburg, then on to Fort
Lauderdale, then a week at Disneyworld, sinc we haven't been there for Christmas decorations. Leave for home-Canada-Dec. 22. Can't wait!

Olivia "So many books--so little time."" | 678 comments Hot and humid in Peoria today. Temp went up to 88.

Thank Michael. We have an exciting fall & early winter. Our 3rd granddaughter is due Nov. 15, the first child for our oldest son and his wife-then our trip begins in early Dec., then home just in time for Christmas!

We still have lots of time to chat before then. But I really appreciate your kind wishes. W haven't had a real holiday since 2007- we had 2 weddings to help with, and 2 granddaughters, both born when holidays were available. So, this is one to really look forward to.

As most of you know here in Colorado we have been hit with several flooding. Lucky I am not near any of the areas that were badly hit. But it did rain for three days straight at my house. Now how ever things seem to be looking up and the sun is shining again!

Glad you are safe and that the weather is improving. Your weather has been a big story in Canada. It's a small world!

Glad to hear the weather is improving Janessa.

The temps here in LA bounced back up, as they often do this time of year, so it is rather hot again.

message 134: by Lade (new)

Lade (ladet) | 638 comments it's terribly hot during the day. you can actually feel yourself burn. then it's very very cold at night

message 135: by James (new)

James (birchoverjames) Here in Essex it seems Autumn as arrived. Office actually has heating, turned on for the first time on Monday. But we are promised a mini heatwave this weekend.

message 136: by James (new)

James (birchoverjames) Had to drive to work today as I have a late night meeting. The fog was bad and traffic very slow, stop start, but you still had idiots driving as if it was a clear day.

message 137: by Leigh (new)

Leigh | 6291 comments Autumn/Fall is here in Los Angegles. It is warm and there are fires nearby. That is pretty standard for this time of year.

message 138: by Ron (new)

Ron (ronb626) | 3884 comments In Oregon, it's been raining. Last weekend, the remnants of a typhoon that struck Japan, crossed the Pacific and hit the Oregon Coast. Was at a UO football game and got drenched. No sweat, though, as the team won.

Monsoon like conditions Saturday night. Still raining ever since. Although, today, we're getting scattered sun breaks. Looks like it'll go back to rainy tonight. Sometimes, during the rainy season, we get really nice days that turn back to rain in the evening.

All part of living in Oregon. All that rain keeps us green year-round. Lived several other places, and I'll take the rain if we can avoid those really hot, humid days of summer and the really cold days of winter. Temperate climate, here. But, it does rain a lot.

message 139: by Malina (new)

Malina | 1838 comments Here in New England, leaves are changing colors, everything looks beautiful, we have some nice weather for next few days, mid 70's low 80's, last glimpse of summer like temps

Same is true here in Southern Ontario. We could actually use some rain. My garden is extremely dry.

message 141: by James (new)

James (birchoverjames) Here in Essex it looks like autumn has finally arrived. The false promise of an Indian summer over the weekend and beginning of the week had gone. This morning on the train in to work the rain was quite heavy, with the promise of more to come.

message 142: by Linda (new)

Linda (beaulieulinda117gmailcom) | 1403 comments It looks pretty cloudy here in Southern Ontario right now.

message 143: by Helen (new)

Helen Howe | 4 comments In north Derbyshire it's pretty grim. Grey skies, heavy drizzle and cold!

message 144: by Laurel (new)

Laurel (goodreadscomboddy_l) | 117 comments Beautiful, sunny, cloudless day, 20 degrees centigrade, just right for a 3hr. Cruise among Georgian Bay's 30,000 Islands-gorgeous fall colours! A 3hr. Drive north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Perfect day!

☼♎ Carmen the Bootyshaker Temptress ☼♎ | 601 comments It was nice and sunny today.

message 147: by Kay (new)

Kay Faupel | 1028 comments Dark & clear in DFW(Dallas-Fort Worth) Texas 81 F or 27 C feels great!

message 148: by Leigh (new)

Leigh | 6291 comments Still warm here in Los Angeles, it really doesn't cool down until late October. We had a mist of rain a few days ago, but we have had very little rain this year, less that five inches I do believe.

message 149: by [deleted user] (new)

Close to 90 degrees here in Lincoln, NE today and down to 38 degrees by Sunday morning. Bring on the cool weather, my favorite time of the year

message 150: by Leigh (new)

Leigh | 6291 comments Good luck with the cold. I always get sick when we have 20-30 temperature changes in a short period of time. I can't imagine almost 60 degrees in that short of a period of time.
