The temperature has dropped to 63 degrees. It's supposed to be 58 degrees tonight. We're in the middle of a nasty storm right now. I just hope it doesn't hail. This is why I don't like spring around here (north Texas). One thunderstorm after another.

Susan wrote: "Thunderstorms and tornado warnings all week in N. Texas."Same here along the Gulf Coast in Houston. It's been thundering and storming all night which will mean flooding all over town...glad I don't have to get out today, but my hubby does! :>(

I know the area where you live. Hello neighbor. Stay dry. Bit wet outside. Cute coming home from the airport last night.

Yeah, well, my and my wife are really ready to complain about 100 degree temperatures, again. The rain is becoming a bit much just about now. Of course, our feelings are a bit tempered by our recent visit with my sister at her home in Arizona. 75 degree temperatures every day we were there. But, since we can't take the 120 degree weather there in the summer, we will decline from the temptations to move there.
We had a thunderstorm Wednesday night with a fair amount of rain, pea-sized hail, and some thunder and lightning. It's been nice and sunny since then. It's 68 degrees right now and lovely.
In the Oregon Willamette Valley, it's starting to look like spring. At least, the rain is warmer, now. But, a lot of things blossoming out. One of our rhododendrons has blossoms on it. That one always is the 1st with the others coming along later in the spring. Daffodils are up all over the place. Well, not my place. We have a gopher problem and any tubular plants that we try to plant become gopher food. Kind of sad, but, noting much seems to get rid of them. Can't use poison because of our pets, so, the gophers seem to know it and have conventions on our property.
Spring began to arrive in the Las Vegas Valley in late Feb. with the cherry trees in bloom. Today it's in the 70s, roses are blooming, flowering shrubs and starting to bloom and so it goes. The huge, gorgeous cactus flowers won't be out for a few weeks and then ZAP, they're gone in a day or two So, bright blue skies to put a springtime smile on a person's face--oh, yeah! A great day.
Here in north Texas, it was 68 degrees and sunny with a strong north wind. Definitely spring - my zinnias are coming up and the goldfinches made their yearly appearance.
Yesterday, in the upper 8o's in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Today, mid 60's. Such is the way of early spring, here. I get sniffles from the weather changing so much. Warm one day, cooler the next, then, back to warm. [sigh] But, it does beat winter weather.
Here in Texas, it's been warm the last couple of days and now it's cool and rainy. I just hope we don't get any tornadoes like a couple of weeks ago when we had to go hide in the bathroom for 30 minutes.
I live in a small town about 70 minutes south of Fort Worth, TX. We had some light rain and thunder this morning and afternoon, but it was over by about 4 pm. About two weeks ago, we were threatened by a nasty storm (ping pong ball-sized hail), but it missed us by about 10-15 miles.
Its been raining off and on all day long. Went grocery shopping and then had to run to the car because it started to rain. I didn't care about myself, but didn't want my purchases to get wet.
We got groceries today and it started raining just as I was bringing them in the house. I managed to get everything inside before the rain got too bad.
Here in north Texas, we have a chance of another round of heavy rain tonight and into tomorrow. We actually had flooding here starting on Sunday and lasting through Monday. Lots of road closures. Houston and San Antonio had it a lot worse. My company's regional offices (for east Texas) in Houston had to close down Monday due to severe flooding. People were working out of their homes. Even on Tuesday, some people couldn't get to work due to road closures.
Yeah, I'm hearing jokes about that at work from people who know how many pets I have. Personally, I'm not worried about us. We were pretty lucky and the flooding, though bad, wasn't severe enough for the roads to be closed for more than a day or two, except for possibly some county roads near the Bosque River. It's the Houston and San Antonio areas I'm worried about. I have relatives there. The last I heard, seven people had died in Houston due to this weather. I can't wait till summer comes and everything dries up.
I'm so sorry about all the water your state has been receiving. Its hard to image that much rain! And here in Southern California, where we were expecting El Nino in capital letters, we've had very little.
We basically get all this rain in the spring. When summer comes, all the rain goes away and we're under drought conditions until around September or so. It's feast/famine around here. The exception is east Texas. They get more rain than we do.
Spring weather seems to have set in, in Western Oregon. Beautiful warm days and flowers blooming everywhere you look. Even got hot for a few days. Well, hot by Oregon standards. Temperatures in the upper 80's to lower 90's. I know it gets hotter than that in other places, but, you can keep it, thank you.
Just another day in Paradise in So Cal. High wispy clouds, temp in the mid 70's. Perfection. Great day to kick back in the patio and read.

But, still, beats winter!
Poured down rain this morning, but the sun is out now, thank goodness! Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day with a high of about 80 degrees.

It's been humid here (north Texas) for about a week now with no rain. The weather forecasters keep saying we're going to have storms, but fortunately they've been wrong. It's supposed to be about 80 degrees today.

A little different for us. It feels like Seattle here in the Tri-Cities. It has been in the upper 80s for at least a week.
I'm in New York and it's windy and cold here. I'm wondering if the warm weather is every going to come :(
Kirsten *Dogs Welcome - People Tolerated" wrote: "A little different for us. It feels like Seattle here in the Tri-Cities. It has been in the upper 80s for at least a week. "A bit warmer here in Oregon, today, but, no where near the 80's.
And, I compare nothing here to Seattle.
Over here in Bengaluru, we have some respite from the heat of the summer (which has possibly been the worst ever) by the ever-so-unpredictable rains and an almost constant evening cloud cover.
It's overcast here and very humid, but we haven't had a lot of rain. Our high temperatures have been ranging from the low 70s to the mid-80s. I'd really like to see some sun.
Here in the Willamette Valley in Oregon, it's beginning to look a lot like summer. Not much of the real hot days, yet, but, those will come. Of course, here, 85+ is considered real hot with 100+ bordering on the unbearable. Hottest I've seen was 108. And, that was at a Grateful Dead concert in 1972!But, it does look like spring is finishing up and summer beginning. We never look for summer before July 4th, anyway, so, we're right on schedule.
We're driving that train, but, we're not high on cocaine...
