Weather: What's the Weather Like in Your Corner of the World?
ou know this smug attitude regarding the weather in LA is annoying. The rest of us have to put up with rain, very heavy in the UK, wind, 100mph plus, snow, sleet and frost.Come and live in the real world.
At least we don't suffer from smog. Is that sytill a problem in LA?
Joking.

In a word, snow in CT. Yesterday was a mix of snow and freezing rain and just rain, and more to come on Saturday. Sunday I'm supposed to be heading to Florida for a business trip (a conference) and hopeful that I can get out of here for warmer weather.
WINDY.Very windy.
Horribly Windy.
And very, very wet. Half of Britain is flooded. I'm in Northampton UK.

Not really. It has not been great this year because of the lack of rain--it cleans the air. We have had a few days labeled unhealthy but I haven't heard anyone complain about any respiratory problems. It's been very very clear and the mountains are looking beautiful. If we don't get some substantial rain before summer the air quality will definitely suffer.
It was almost 85F(roughly 30C) very warm and bright--the sunrise was orange instead of violet and pink. It is supposed to drop back into the 60s by the end of next week.
Perfect reading weather. By this time of winter in New England, either we're insane or just have resigned ourselves to yet another snow storm. We're getting 10 more inches tonight. HA! Like I said - perfect reading weather. Perfect writing weather.Barbara Boudreau
Boy, did it ever rain in Oregon today! Or, at least, in my part of Oregon, the Willamette Valley a ways south of Portland and north of Salem. Usually rain in Oregon is almost a steady mist. Somewhat heavier than an actual mist, but, not really a downpour. Today, we got the downpour. And, it lasted for a few hours. Cleared up in the middle of the afternoon, but, started in again in the evening.
Coming home today, we drove by the Willamette River. It is really swollen and high. All that snow last week is now in the river. And, with this heavy rain, it's going to get worse before it gets better. Flooding would now surprise me.
We are about 5 miles from the river and somewhat above it. But, places down by the river, all along it's length, could be in danger. Reminds me of the way it was before the flooding in 1996 that got so bad. Hopefully I'm wrong, though. We'll see.
Last Saturday we were still feeling the effects of the storms, but Sunday was dry and sunny. In Romford where I work it has stayed that way since. But in Clacton where I live it was wet yesterday. Who knows what to expect.
Dry and in the 60s here in Los Angeles today. The drought/water talk is starting here in California and it is going to get ugly.
My place is experiencing a drought right now. 28 to 30 C almost everyday with no rain since last month. There's a paddy field not far from my house where I like to go every weekend for my morning walk. A fortnight ago was their last harvest and now they can't plant anything because of this drought. It has become a big issue in my country, some meteorologists suggested for cloud seeding but I haven't seen any action taken by my government yet. I truly feel sorry for the farmers. It's currently 34C right now, according to my thermometer. I read in papers the drought could last until April. I hope it won't last that long

California hasn't had any real precipitation in a year. It's going to pit rural and urban areas against each other.

The water supply dept had to send some water tanks to the affected areas. No amount of deodorants can help them now.
I used to hate rain, now I'm praying for one.

Here in California the governor just announced an almost 700 million plan to try and help, but really we just need rain and snow. The last all the precipitation has just been going around California.

The weather this year seems to be off everywhere. Some places getting WAY more than usual and some places getting much less then normal.
Melbourne, Australia: cold (20C or 68F), wet, windy. It's supposed to be summer!! 2 Weeks ago we were struggling with over 40C (104F).
Snow....snow....oh, and more snow....want so badly to sit out on my deck, with a book and an iced tea (or wine)....
I am surprise that with all the wind we are getting here in Colorado my mom and I have not come down with migraines this week.

Just being factious. Sunny today in Oregon. Has been off and on this week. Looks like a beautiful Saturday. Part of my 7 day weekend.
(Expletive) Texas weather currently 30F gray and breezy in Arlington, last night it was 70F around 10PM. It's cooled off some.
It was in the 60s here in Los Angeles today. We had a lovely breeze and the air is nice and fresh form the rain.
Woke up to snow this morning but by the afternoon it warmed up and was quite nice here in Colorado
Rain and more rain in Oregon today. Tonight it pounded on the roof, which is an unusually hard rain for here.Maybe it just wanted to welcome in our new granddaughter born yesterday!

LOL!!!
It's going to in the 80s and windy this weekend. Yuck
Leigh wrote: "It's going to in the 80s and windy this weekend. Yuck..."Be glad to trade you. Weather, that is. Still raining up here in Oregon. Pretty wet all the way around.
Woke up to rain this morning here in Colorado. I think it might turn into snow later on and maybe this weekend as well.
Rain has gone away. Probably, to return another day. But, today is sunny in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Very pretty day, indeed.
Yesterday was sunny and above 0C. Today is gray and just below 0C in Toronto. I may just take a walk today, wander out like a ground hog to check for spring.
In Rhode Island the sun was out today and it went to 55 degrees. Going down to below 20 degree tonight. Snow coming mid week. This has been a terrible winter.
Warm, nearing hot this weekend in Los Angeles. That plus the time change means I have been sleepy all day.
Still getting rain in Oregon. But, it seems to come more at night recently. And, that's OK with me. The rain keeps Oregon green. So, come to Oregon and bring your "green."
Rain has let up in Oregon. Beautiful sunshiny day today. Went for a walk with my dog, a black terrior-shepard mix, and when I stopped to rest, she sought out the shade! Wasn't that hot to me, but, I wasn't wearing my black winter coat, either!
It's quite sunny here in Belgium for this time of year... About 16* C :-)Nice to get some vitamin D after a long grey period...
Pretty sunny today in Oregon in the Willamette Valley. Kind of warm, but, not shorts weather, yet. Although, I did see a few youngsters sporting them. Reminds my of one of my favorite quotes by Lucas Davenport in one of John Sandford's Prey novels. Davenport was talking about it turning spring in Minneapolis, and said, "It's a beautiful city, when the coats come off." Any male who's spent a spring on a campus will know what he's talking about. Maybe, any female, too, but, I don't think I'm qualified to speak for them.
Was nice and sunny here in Colorado that I had my bedroom window open to let in some fresh air

Great counterpoint to last weeks snow storm. No freeways closed today. No traffic jams due to snow. Still traffic jams, but, not snow induced.
Raining a bit, tonight. That's OK. We need the rain. It's what keeps Oregon green all year round.
