I saw the first ep and I'm watching the second now. I like it, it's weird but I'm not quite sure if that's good or bad, lol
It's definitely a keeper, this second episode was my decision-maker and it made the cut. Mads and Hugh are outstanding in their roles, I like both actors anyway, but I'm really enjoying the interaction between Will and Lecter. Every time Lecter is eating meat, don't you wonder if it's human meat? I do.
Have you seen the second episode? Mushrooms. Disgusting. I like the weird scenarios this show brings.
I agree, Jackie! I got clear on the characters and 2nd episode popped me right into the world they've created. It's beautifully decorated and designed to be fluid. I love the shots of food when Hannibal was eating with Laurence Fishburne and you have to think that's gorgeous, but what is it. It's artsy but without pretentions. I loved the ideas of spores connecting...
I saw the first episode and like it a lot. Very interesting! A little confusing at times, but I figure it will clear up in further episodes. Sometimes Lecter is a little hard to understand, heavy accent. We watched this on demand, what day is it actually on?
It does. I don't usually like cop shows, there's only so many ways to kill a person and only so many ways to catch them, but Hannibal turns that idea on it's head. So many inventive, and disgusting, ways to kill a person!
I really want to watch this one, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Soon. . . I've heard naught but good about it from all corners.
Holli, can you ever eat mushrooms again after watching that one ep? That was really the grossest thing I saw on Hannibal so far. I don't know why it wigged me out like it did, but mushrooms are permanently Off The Menu!
When they took the bodies out of the graves and the mushrooms were attached to them, I thought I was gonna vomit. Ugh. I'm getting the shivers just thinking about it, lolI'm not a fan of mushrooms but they are good in certain dishes like Chicken Marsala or Coq Au Vin. Mostly I scoop them out of the gravy and put them on my husband's plate. But I don't even know if I can look at them now, much less touch them.
This show is good. I have been watching it every week. I have found a couple episodes boring but then it got better with the next one.
I'm starting to get lost; why the hell did Hannibal kill his doctor friend and stage it to look like the "undead girl" did it? Why would his friend agree to hide Will's encephalitis? Is Hannibal really Will's friend or is it impossible for a psychopathic killer (no matter how charming and intelligent) to have friendship? If he's his "friend" why would he hide his condition and also lead Will into the dangerous situation of encountering Tobias at the music shop (in the previous episode)?
Also, what's Ellen Muth been up to? And how many serial killers are active in the Baltimore area anyway?

He killed the doctor because he knew too much about Will. He wants to keep Will like he is. Having the "undead" girl do it took the possible heat off him for that one and I suspect probably excited him to see what she would do with him. I would say that Hannibal considers Will a friend, as much as any psychopath can be friends with someone. he wants Will to stay the way he is because it's exciting for him... part of the game... it all factors in together. The doctor hid the secret of Will's illness so that Hannibal can study him as a test subject. Hannibal manipulated the Dr into thinking that would be ok and then killed him.
I haven't seen it yet! I'm waiting on my neighbor, we watch it together and he's got a busy week. I want to watch it but it's so much better when watching with another person. We're probably do a mini-marathon when he's available.
NP, I didn't read it, I know how postings go after the ep aired. I wouldn't want it any other way. I get the notification in my email, click, and then remember I didn't see it, lol.....I just did it again now. If my neighbor doesn't watch soon, I'll have to do it without him.
I don't like waiting, this is why I rather watch alone; now I feel bad doing it without him. I think we'll do both eps together this week, or I'll just have to go on without him.
Maybe it is more like I just wasn't satisfied or satiated as I wanted to be. I still can't wait for next season. It is a great show. xo
I just watched the final 4 episodes, I thought it was great. Hannibal is so deviously clever, the way he set up Will. I feel sorry for Will, not only what Hannibal did to him but how Jack used him, knowing he was breaking his psyche. Both are equally responsible for destroying him.
I have no idea where it'll go next season, what will happen. I totally like that!
Yes! But the ratings aren't that good, I doubt we'll get another season out of it.So...how was that season opening scene? I was like Whaaatttt????
I'm pretty upset about Beverly.
That was crazy w Beverly!i just read that they are planning another season in TV Guide's what's failing & what is still holding on. I hope I saw that right. i think there are so many possibilities.
EW just said it probably won't make it, lol It's all guessing at this point. I wish they advertised and put Hannibal on a day where it would garner more viewers. If it fails in the ratings, it's their fault, not the show's.
I hope it does not get cancel such a good show. I wish they would move it from Friday to a different night.
I like it Friday's after Grimm, but with DVR or online episodes you can watch anytime. The cinematography is crazy good. You have to remind yourself that decandant looking meal is human. Plus the places Will visits in his mind are extraordinary even if he's just fishing.
Loving this show. I watched last night's episode twice to ensure my memory (as if possible, lol). It is crazy well-written.
I know it! Even the filming technique is movie-style grand, definitely an upgrade for TV. I was getting freaked out that Will was going along with Hannibal, but now I see he's setting a trap.
