around eclipse i started to realise that this twilight thing isn't gonna end the way i thought it will, and is became more and more cheesy. then one day a friend told me that i should read the host because its such a great book. when i saw it was steph's i had doubts but i started reading and i was really surprised by how good it was, and what a good writer she actually is.
I never read twilight. I just saw the movies. But 3 of my friends suggested host so i decided to give it a try. Honestly i had never read books this big before, but i am totally in love with host since the moment i finished it!!!
I bought it because it was on sale, also I like the author, and must confess: judged it by the cover (shame).
I read it when I finished the Twilight saga andrealised that St.Meyer had wrote this book as well.
Because i saw that it was being made into a movie. Personally i will never ever read twilight so i surprised myself when i picked up this book
I read The Host because it was given to me for my birthday by a friend who is a big fan of Stephenie Meyer. I didn't like it.
I hated Twilight, but decided to give a chance to Host. I liked the description of it, i felt like it was some kind of distopian book (which i love) and i end up liking very much of this book :) defnatly very diferent from twilight (it has that basic love in it but it doesn't focus only in that, it focus in very metamorphomical things :) and thats what i liked in this book)
Sincerly, I started reading this book just to see if it's better than Twilight. And, well, it is. I really enjoyed it.
It was one boring summer in London, UK. I was home with nothing to do.
This was the summer after the first movie in the twilight tetralogy came out. My sister had the book.
Having binged on the entire twilight tetralogy after the twilight movie. I picked it ip and couldn't drop it till I was done.

I started reading it because the book's author is Stephenie Meyer and it's also popular plus it looks interesting base from its trailer. So, yeah. That's why.
Because the author is familiar and i think twilight series isn't bad. And the cover is cool. So yeah i bought it.
I saw the movie, I kind of liked, I'm currently reading it because I wanted to know what they left out, I'm just weird that way, I'll watch a movie that was based off a book, I know they left out a lot of things, and I'll be like "Well they obviously took out a bunch of scenes, I wonder what kind of stupid decisions they made" and that, my friends, is why I am currently reading, The Host
My mother, who is 60 y.o., actually recommended me to read it and let me borrow it from her, about three years ago. I had already read the Twilight books and I enjoyed Stephenie's writing style. I really enjoyed reading "The Host"... but I did not find it amazing.
I started reading it because I loved Stephanie Meyers writing and i knew this one wasn't gonna disappoint me and it didn't!!
I read it because the price dropped on Kindle & I had read the Twilight series and was told this was so much better...should have waited until it was .99 instead of 4.99.

.................................................i watched the movie first, im ashamed. But if u hadnt read the book, that was a pretty damn good movie. i liked it. and loved it and i loved the book too
My friend told me about it. She said it's really good and she also sort of told me about what it's about xD that got me interested so I bought the book.
I read The Host because I'd watched the movie. And no, I didn't watch the movie because I love Twilight-I actually highly dislike Twilight. No, I watched The Host because the trailer looked cool. So after I watched the movie I was given the book The Host for a gift, and it took me a long time to get into it, but I'm glad I read it.
I started reading The Host because my teacher recommended it to me. :) I'm happy that I read the book.
My friends wouldn't stop fan girling about Jared, and ESPECIALLY Ian, at lunch. I had actually given up reading for a period of time(don't get me wrong, I forced myself to do it, I nearly died of the want to read;)!), but I put it at the top of my to read list after hearing them talk about it for endless days. I have to admit, it's a book I liked, but I wouldn't go around talking about it constantly. I only really enjoyed the end.
Because of the trailer to the movie. I had owned the book for years, but it never really intrigued me, even though I had loved the twilight saga at that time. But then I was the movie trailer a few months before the movie came out, which made me wanting to see the movie AND read the book. Which I did, and I loved it :D
After I read Twilight, I became interested with Stephenie Meyer's works. :))The Host is amazing. :)
I'd give the credit of me reading and enjoying this book to Imagine Dragon's Radioactive. At first I thought it was boring, but when I saw the movie trailer I was like - "Lets give it try." and guess what? I LOVED it!
To be honest, because the movie sounded interesting so I wanted to read the book first of course! Kaleb Nation showed me the movie, and I actually hesitated to read the book because I've never liked Twilight. But it was a different book entirely, do I gave it a shot. I'm so glad I did! It is now one of my favorite books of all time and one of my favorite movies!
It's been sitting on my bookshelf for a few years, but I couldn't bring myself to read another Meyer book. After watching the movie I thought I'd give it a go. Wasn't nearly as bad as I expected!
I started reading this book because I was done reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (would highly recommend) and it was on my "to read" list. So I looked it up in the Kindle store and on that day it was on sale for $1.99 so I got it and read it.
I personally hated the Twilight books but a friend of mine convinced me to give this book a try. I was surprised that I actually ended up liking it.
Despite my personal vendetta against all things Meyer, I decided to try out The Host, firstly because I wanted to see if it was better than the Twilight series (it was, though not so much in the quality sense), and secondly because the few I knew who had sampled it had mixed reviews, mostly leaning towards the negative side. I found that I liked it, but mostly because it appealed to my guilty pleasure side (where a lot of YA authors that employ the use of cliches, aren't overly concerned about their writing and have specifically teen-aimed ideas end up categorised).
When the book was first released I read the synopsis and immediately put it back. It sounded stupid. But a year ago I was looking for a new book to read and it was only $ 2.00 so I thought " why not". I loved it.
I planned on reading it eventually, but when I found a copy at the library used book sale, I found I couldn't put the darn thing down.
I saw the book in a store and it looked interesting then I noticed who the author was and I was like I must have this book! And now it's my favorite book.
i read twilight and saw she wrote this i loved it. i also read it before the movie
I had finished reading the Twilight set, was in bed sick, and wanted another book to read. My sweet husband went out for chicken noodle soup, tea, and a book for me. He noticed The Host in the new release shelf. I am so glad it caught his eye!!
I love Twilight and when I saw that The Host was written by the same author, Stephenie Meyer, I decided to read it. I loved it! Its as good as Twilight!
after i saw the movie actually. I like the movie and i wondered what the book was like so i read it
I bought a copy of The Host years ago, forgot about it, and then remembered I had a copy when the promotion for the film version was being done. Also because I joked to my boyfriend that I would before curiosity of what Meyers was like as a writer got the better of me.
After reading stephanie meyers books i read that she got her insperation from suzann collins went strait to the book store and bought everything she had ever written read all of them with my son reading the younger series by her as he finished gregor i finished the host and mockingjay simply wonderful
I started reading it because all of my freinds said that the book was amazing. when we walked out of Breaking Dawn part 2 we saw the movie poster for the host. My friends said they were going but me being a book worm i had to read the book first so i read it and saw the movie but the book was so much better than the movie.

I read it during my phase of Twilight obsession, all happy that there was another book by the same author. At that time you could have given me Stephenie Meyer's shopping list and I would have been over the moon.
I saw it was going to be a movie. My sister bought the book on sale and I decided I might as well read it. Love who they got to be Jared :)
I always saw it in the library and the book store and I I've picked it up myriad times to read the teaser yet i never got it (bad choice). Then when I saw that it was going to be a movie I thought well I want to read it before I see the movie so yeah I picked it up and LOVED IT! I was sort of dissapointed in myself though for not reading it until I figured out it would be a movie. Oh and I just have to say I think this is her best book yet. The idea is so original and I loved the confusing relationship "square" they had going on
Because I saw the moive
I read this book when I was thirteen, it was the second book I ever read (willingly), 4 years later and its my 12th time reading it! I was looking for the next book in the Wardstone chronicles by Joseph Delaney and as I was throwing a fit cause it wasn't there ( don't judge) I knocked over a huge stack of The Host and well I fell in love with the cover, and the blurb... And I thought the surname Stryder was cool, so I forgot about the other series and read it... Well the first three times I read it it was for making sure everything sunk in... And cause I loved Kyle and Ian!! Jared didn't really drive me to love him... Needless to say Ian was the first fictional boy from a book for me to fall in love with... So ja, despite what others say I think Stephenie Meyer is quite brilliant... Cause she actually made me the bookworm that I am today! I just wish they got the movie right... Cause although it was great, it lacked in getting its facts straight, leaving out emotionally attaching parts, like hello! The part where Wanderer tells Jared about the Claw Beast insertion! Vital for Jared's full appreciation and friendship!
