So I finished this today and I guess it was decent enough but I wouldn't say I loved it. I didn't understand a reason for a romantic interest in either Will or Jem. Jem seems like he should be in the friend zone and Will just seemed like an arrogant ass and I never got completely on board with him. I really wanted to love him though! I'll give Clockwork Prince a chance.

I'm the slow poke in this read! I'm only at about 68%. Dang work!! Even though I'm not finished, I agree on the Will points. He seems quite an ass to me too. Hhhmmmm... I hope to finish by tomorrow.

Jen, I'm also glad I'm not the only one! I've heard nothing but praise for this book and Will so I thought I may be alone in not being on the Will train.

Sorry I'm so late on chiming in on this one! I am only to page 100 on my reread so far.

Jen, these books are much better read as a hard copy, IMO. They are just beautiful books to hold! I'm sorry you didn't love it--I love the victorian setting, so that may be why I love them more than the Mortal Instruments. The characters Will, Jem, and Tessa are another big reason why I like them. Things get heartbreaking and amazing in the next book! It has a huge cliffhanger, so you should feel happy that the last book is out!

The witty banter between Jem and Will is just amazing in this series, and its even better in the second book! I agree with you there, David! I'll get into the spoilers more when I finish!

Yea, the last 15% of the book was probably my favotite! I'm not sure when this spoiler was but it was almost at the end so don't read it yet Karen (I'm doing it to you now lol)! (view spoiler)[ And Will saying he'll sleep with Tessa but that's as far as their relationship can go!? How does anybody love Will??? I think I would have slapped him right there on the spot! Soooo, I did like the last 15% of the book as well. And here are my random thoughts.

Will(view spoiler)[ has not endeared himself to me at all yet and, you're right Meaghan, he was really crappy to Tessa with his little proposition. But... I think there is more than meets the eye and I think we will change our minds in the next book. Too many people like him, including my book triplets (Jenny and David) so I have to go with the fact that if they are team Will, I most likely will be too. (hide spoiler)]

Tessa (view spoiler)[I get that you can be blinded by family ties, but Tessa following Nate blindly was a bit unrealistic. Nate is disgusting and he gave me the heeby jeebies from the first time he pretty much started talking. UGH! Come on, Tessie. Couldn't your eyes have been open just a bit more! (hide spoiler)]

I wasn't sure about this book for most of it but I think overall it was decent. The writing and the bantering between characters was really good. I do have to find out what happens next, so will continue reading the series!

I finished my reread! (view spoiler)[ Karen I agree completely with you on the whole Nate and Tessa thing. I had a gut feeling that he was mixed up more in things than he let on. I was really saddened by Will's meanness to Tessa at the end of the story, but I sensed there was a reason he was being such a jerk. I won't spoil it for you, though! I love Jem, he's such a dear, and my heart breaks for him. I really love him in the next book, but hope for Tessa is Will!
I really didn't like Jessamine, but I'm glad she came through a few times in the end! (hide spoiler)]
