Amanda Trust | 4 comments There was a book I read in seventh or eighth grade, so about eight years ago now. It started off with students boarding a bus and the bus going a different route than usual. Turns out, the driver took the students to a secluded area and basically held them prisoner. I believe the bus driver on duty was accused of the kidnapping, but his body was later found in a shed or something along those lines... Two of the kids I believe where trying to escape and it was snowy, but one of them got shot in either the leg or the side... Sadly, I don't remember anything besides this, I just remember someone telling me if I liked this kind of book I'd like Stephen King's works. So of coarse, I bought tons of his books, but lost the dear book that brought me to him and now, years later, I remembered that old book and can't for the like of me figure out which book it was. Any help would be much appreciated. ^_^'

Martini (shakenorstirred) | 215 comments It could be Under the Beetle's Cellar, though I'm not absolutely sure, because it's been a while since I read it.

I'll have to read it to be sure, but I think it might be! Thanks. ^_^

And when you've read it, please come back here and tell us if it was the right book, so this topic can be marked as solved.

Elizabeth | 1 comments Five Were Missing by Lois Duncan. It may have been titled "Ransom". I remember that the last scene was in a church... A silver church? Five Were Missing

bookel | 4024 comments Agreed it sounds like Ransom (Five were missing) by Lois Duncan.
You can see excerpts on Google Books. The bus driver was found murdered. There is snow. Someone was shot.

Amanda, was "Under the Beetle's Cellar" your book?

After the First Death is another possibility, terrorists hijack a school bus.
