I seriously have been want to reading Santa Olivia since like 2011 -- it is has been on multiple kindles of mine. I can't wait to hear your thoughts.
I just started

She has an offshoot series set in Half Moon Hollow which is pretty good.

And characters from Half Moon Hollow occasionally show up in Grundy, Alaska.

Yes Wendy! I am off to snuggle in bed and read it! I hope I like it more than come alive. But no need to be jealous. It is going to be released in 4 days!
And Ian I agree. Laini Taylor has talent. I follow her on Pinterest. Her eye for beauty is the same in the visual world. I can see how it translates into the written world.

That was Andrea and Dick in #3, right? I remember reading an interview with Molly Harper where she said vamps were not out and public in the Grundy world b/c she wanted Mo to be shocked and not exposed to the supernatural so I found that weird that it happened. B/c clearly in the Half Moon Hollow world vamps have been outed, so I was surprised at that cross-over.

Q. Are the Naked Werewolf books set in the same world as the Jane Jameson books?
A. No. I needed the possibility of werewolves exisiting to be a foreign concept for Mo. I needed her disbelief. If she was aware of vampires existence, her disbelief in werewolves would be sort of silly. However, I did want to reward Jane fans, so I hid little Easter eggs in the Naked Werewolf books, referencing the Jane Jameson books. I don’t want to tell you what they are, but you’ll know them when you see them.

It's the same world....sort of. You occasionally hear mentions of werewolves in Alaska in tbe Jane Jamison books. I can't remember the exact details but I think Jane shipped some tacky werewolf romance novels from her book store in one of the books.

I just noticed that the quote was Molly Harper saying they weren't the same world.

Which directly contradicts what she has on her website. :)

I don't know, I haven't listened to it yet. The Half Moon Hollow series is a PNR series and each book and novella features a different hero and heroine, so it will probably be okay. The Jane Jamison series should be read/listened to in order b/c it is more UF and all about Jane in each book.

lol...I'm not going to contradict the author. Maybe a parallel world...like ships that pass in the night. You occasionally get a glimpse from one to the other but they don't cross over...at least they haven't yet.

Thank you, Regina.
Do you find the Molly Harper books as addictive as the Jeaniene Frost books?

LOL. No, I mean she has contradicted herself. She says they aren't the same world and then has Andrea and Dick appear -- and Andrea clearly only exists in after vamps are known everywhere (Dick not so much).
Angie, I read the Frost books years ago (I think in 2010), I feel like it was another reading life of mine. :D They are different. They are both funny, but the Frost books are more about action and fighting. The Harper books are more about the relationships between the characters. It is sort of a funny and more creative alternate word of Robyn Carr's books. All of the books are set in a small town and involve characters who generally knew each other their entire life and are dealing with conflicts among them - and then add in the supernatural element. Right now in my life, I much prefer Molly Harper and I don't think her books are petering out in the way that Frost's books did.

I actually walked away from Jeaniene Frost after the first book. It wasn't bad but it just didn't hook me so I didn't continue.

Friends got an autographed copy for me, so I need to start it.

*grin* I often feel that way about what you're reading. Would love to be reading Ashes to Ashes.
It's a super fast read. I really enjoyed it. It didn't rate as high as Neverwhere or Anansi Boys for me, but a delightful bit of slithery unease. :) Very cool that you have an autographed copy!

I used to scoff at reading off ereaders but I am so converted now. It's my preferred way to read. Books are heavy and awkward. Whine whine reader girl lameness. :)

Can I ask for a few spoilers? It looks interesting but I can't read books with realistic or graphic violence...and I generally avoid books with sad endings...even a reminiscence of tragedy is something best avoided unless the message is ultimately positive.

Now i'm going to start

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I feel so grateful to be a reader right now. All my books I am just loving so much. I am reading

And then ....

Then my audio book is really fabulous,

They aren't similar in plot, but in that the story is about a man who works as email security and his job is to read emails for a newspaper and make sure they aren't misusing company time. He hates it. Inadvertantly he starts reading emails between two best friends and he slowly falls in love with one just through reading her emails. It was really really sweet. I loved it. Anyway, you get the main character's story, and then the relationship between Beth and Jennifer (the best friends) is all in emails.
