Me too! I really enjoyed that book. I hear she has another book on NG.

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I finished An Echo in the Bone (Outlander, #7) by Diana Gabaldon using whispersync. It was the first time I used it and loved the technology. I ended up really enjoying Echo and started Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8) by Diana Gabaldon

i really liked the sci-fi series that she started but it wasn't popular and got cut - unfortunately

message 6354: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I didn't like it, but the new book on NG is a spinoff of that series -- YA co-written with her daughter.

I saw that but I'm not sure there was much info on it. Know anything about it?

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments looks like its this one - Night Sky - but I haven't heard much about it

message 6357: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments Finally reading... Thanks to Regina and Wendy for encouraging me to pick up MOBY. Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8) by Diana Gabaldon and it's reminded how much I love DG's writing.

Hope everyone has been well :)

message 6358: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1 comments I'm reading Lauren Monroe's "Letting Go: The Maryland Shores". Happy that I found this now because it's a great book for the beach… It's one of those fun love stories (with some steamy scenes) and it's got a nautical theme so very summer-y. I think her blog said it is going on sale this week too on Amazon? Anyway, worth checking out of you like romance.

message 6359: by Tellulah (new)

Tellulah Darling (tellulahdarling) Finished The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt I liked it but it was definitely an uneven read for me. Took me a couple hundred pages to fully engage and while I was then totally connected to Theo, I found my interest wandering again in the last 50-100 pages

No sheepish grins necessary, Dee. :) I'm here as a reader. But yeah, I do that too.

Ooh, Wizard King looks like it could be good. Does each book feature different characters Marcella, or has it been a slow build with the same ones?

message 6367: by Marcella (new)

Marcella (marcella6) | 436 comments Tellulah...each books is about different characters. I love Dana Marie Bell. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I have become addicted to her books and find myself salivating every time I find out one of her books is coming out. You will love it!

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments Hoping to finish up Neanderthal Marries Human tonight - I'm not normally a fan of second books about the same couple but Penny Reid has done it in a way that works - it basically can be read seamlessly with the first one for a super-long romance

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments Grand Central Original Stories of Postwar Love and Reunion by Karen White - several of my favorite authors contributed - only 2 stories in right now
Cider Brook (Swift River Valley, #3) by Carla Neggers - to finish out the trilogy - liked the 1st one, 2nd was ehhh...hopefully this one will be an improvement
Louisiana Longshot (Miss Fortune Mystery #1) by Jana Deleon - making me laugh so far - think Miss Congeniality in Louisiana
Losing It (Losing It, #1) by Cora Carmack - not a huge NA fan, but fits a challenge

Courtney, how was Lady Rogue? I could do with some good HR. I just re-read Wallbanger - still makes me laugh.

message 6377: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 159 comments Tellulah - It was pretty decent! It had a pretty good development of the relationship and the plot was kind of interesting. And Wallbanger is pretty funny! I'm enjoying it so far.

message 6378: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 419 comments Finished Loving Cara (Love Under the Big Sky, #1) by Kristen Proby which was too neat and sweet for me. I'm starting The Look of Love (The Sullivans, #1) by Bella Andre

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments Bella Andre is too Blergh for me

I normally like her books...at least her older ones. I hope this one is good. I don't need another blah read. I'm trying to keep my reading mojo flowing.

message 6381: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 817 comments i think I gave that one like 2 stars

have you read Shannon Stacey? I like her - like BA but more developed characters IMHO

message 6382: by Samantha (new)

Samantha | 419 comments I like Shannon Stacey. I stopped somewhere in her series. I should get back to it. Maybe next after this book. I have to see where I stopped. I want feel good romances right now.

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I just picked up Into the Shadows by Carolyn Crane ...errr, (view spoiler). Also have Accidentally Married on Purpose by Rachel Harris which looks like fun (fingers crossed), and The Highwayman's Daughter by Henriette Gyland which is quite good.

Into the Shadows (The Associates, #3) by Carolyn Crane Accidentally Married on Purpose (Love and Games, #3) by Rachel Harris The Highwayman's Daughter by Henriette Gyland

message 6390: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments I am at 75& in Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8) by Diana Gabaldon Reading first Echo and now this means that I am not reading anything else. Two of these books is like 7 other books!

That drives me insane. And it's not even like they couldn't be a more reasonable size. I mean they're good, I'd even go so far as to see there are 400 great pages in each 900 page book.

Good so far, but I haven't read much. I keep getting sidetracked with historicals.

message 6393: by Leea, Escape Artist (new)

Leea | 1437 comments I'm also still plugging along with Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8) by Diana Gabaldon and I'm on the edge of my seat.

message 6394: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Hmm Angie, that doesn't sound great though if it isn't keeping you focused?

Leea I know! Where are you at?

I am at about 75%, so much has happened.

It really isn't the book, though. It's me. I've been on a historical kick and picked it up knowing that. I should have waited to read it when I was more in the mood for something contemporary.

message 6396: by Ian (new)

Ian (setaian) | 640 comments I really love the Associates books .... there is just enough Carolyn Crane quirk to set them above the average Romantic Suspense.

Have you read The Duke's Holiday? That was pretty damned amazing ... the one I'm reading at the moment is also pretty good. The highwayman's Daughter.

I haven't read that one yet, Ian, but I did buy it at your recommendation! I'll have to bump it up.

One that I read and really enjoyed recently was The Captive by Grace Burrowes. It was my first read for her, and I can't wait to read her back list.

message 6398: by Gwennie, Mrs. Bookworm (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) | 1116 comments LOL, also reading Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8) by Diana Gabaldon , but much slower than Leea and Regina. Sorry girls! I didn't even GET to read at all yesterday and very little today. Life, why does it always have to be so damn busy!

message 6399: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 1447 comments Okay. :) Good news.

Ian, I love the length of these books. I want more -- I would hate if she cut anything out!
