I'm looking for some new reads and thought you might be, too. How about if we all list the best books we've read so far this year? That should give us some ideas.

Another I just finished was sent by Tell Harlequin and it was pretty good Sheila Roberts Better Than Chocolate a new series about Icicle Falls

Kimberlyisreading | 71 comments * The Chance by Karen Kingsbury for Christian Fiction.
* Always the Baker, Never the Bride by Sandra D Bricker for Christian Romance. Her 'Always' series is really good (it probably has another name but all the titles start with Always)
* Tracking Justice, bk 1 of the multi author series Texas K-9 Unit for Love Inspired Suspense.
* Jillian Hart's Montanta Hearts for Historical Romance.
* Trinity: Military War Dog #1 by Ronie Kendig for Christian Suspense.
* Wait for You by J Lynn for New Adult/romance.
* Cornerstone by Misty Provencher for Teen
* Paladin Prophecy for Teen Science Fiction
* The Covenant Series by Jennifer Armentrout for Teen Paranormal
* Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini for Greek Mythology (Teen)

ummm... I read alot? LOL! Just off pace of my goal of 400 for the year.
I've not read Carla Neggers Wanda- I'll have to look for that one!

Kimberly -- I'm going to look for the 'Always' series by Sandra Bricker, too! And I have one of Jillian Hart's on order -- I always love her books.

I'll check all these out! Thanks!

message 10: by Judy (new)

Judy | 277 comments Read Tracking Justice and Montana Hearts.

Glad I'm using a pen name after seeing J Lynn as I'm Judy Lynn (real name not pen name)

I read a really good book last week but it has had language and sexual content. It was called A Moment by Marie Hall. Just really hit me with the struggles they went through.

Ausjenny | 614 comments MaryLu tyndalls latest Forsaken Dreams (Escape to Paradise, #1) by M.L. Tyndall Forsaken Dreams is great.
Margaret Daleys Scorned Justice is also good

Kimberlyisreading | 71 comments some of those are new for me- added them to my 'want to read' list! Thanks!
Janet- I love Jillian Hart and for a long time I only knew about her Love Inspired books but now that I've found some of the others I'm hooked! :) Looking forward to your next one as well!

I have all of Jillian's new ebooks listed on my blog page, she will also continue the Granger Series as self-published books. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...

I need to get some of Jillian's self-pubbed books. I don't have an ereader, but am tempted to get one just to do that.

Plus, I should say, I am looking forward to doing some self-pubbed books of my own in the fall.

message 18: by Judy (new)

Judy | 277 comments You can get the free apps for NOOK or Kindle PC to read them on your computer. I just got a tablet and I have the free apps on it for Kindle and NOOK and they work great.

I might do that, Judy. I'm not keen on reading on my computer, but then again that's what I didn't like about the ereaders I tried so maybe I should do that for the few books I would read that way.

I think Jillian's ebooks may be in print as well. Some of them anyways. I still do enjoy a physical book but most of my clients have ebooks and most of the time I'm reading I need to be able to proof as well, so the computer it is.

message 21: by Mary (new)

Mary (maryannie) | 287 comments Reading on a laptop isn't so bad. I couldn't read a book from my desktop, though...it's not cozy! And, Janet, I would be interested to hear about your self-pub ideas, too. Hopefully we will have some time to talk writing!

I'm sure we will, Mary! And I plan to bring copies of some of my covers (which show my ideas).

I think Jillian does have some of them in print,Judy. The Wrangler, for one.

message 23: by Judy (new)

Judy | 277 comments I believe Montana Hearts is in print, that is her first book of the McPhee Series.

message 24: by Judy (new)

Judy | 277 comments I have 2 books done but haven't started on editing or covers yet. I figure I'll write all 6, or however many I end up with and then go back and edit and send them out for others to edit/etc.

It'll be fun to talk some about your ideas, Judy (if you're ready to share).

I may want some feedback :-) I will say I'm using my friends book in my 3rd book to make some characters jealous and can't wait until it unfolds in the story. Right now I'm busy with other peoples books though, so book 3 is in a hold pattern.

Marianne (mitzi_wanham) | 100 comments Judy, looking forward to reading your novels. Publication on the horizon.

Kimberlyisreading | 71 comments Janet- I hated the idea of e-readers and didn't even want one. my husband bought a nook for me and once i got used to it, well I loved it enough that when the 7" HD came out I bought it. 1.7million free e-books. and you can get e-books from other sites as well.

I still buy my favorite authors books in printed form. That won't ever change! :)

Kimberly -- that's encouraging to know!

Kimberlyisreading | 71 comments Janet- we've started preparing to build my library and I'll have a 14' section of wall high enough for 5 shelves just for my Love Inspired (all 3 lines) books! :)

message 33: by Melody (new)

Melody | 304 comments I love a physical book too, but for space I have to say I love my Kindle! My room is bursting with books, so I am glad for both! ;)

Good to know, Melody. I am slowly (very slowly) coming to the conclusion I need a Kindle, too -- sigh.

message 35: by Mary (new)

Mary (maryannie) | 287 comments I can use my little 11" MACAir for Kindle books...it is not that big and I can enlarge the print. If you all haven't seen the new "Magic Mouse" for tablets, etc. look it up! It is incredible. I am hoping to get one for my laptop even, as I have a lot of arthritis and carpal tunnel issues in my right hand and fingers...index the worst.

Mary (maryannie) | 287 comments Oh, I am just finishing up a book I won, LI. Allie Pleiter signed it for me, "Family Lessons". A man let his failure to protect his wife from killers keep him for ever loving again...until...

Alayna | 2 comments I just finished The Chance by Karen Kingsbury! I loved it! I am so glad I got the Hardback copy instead of the Kindle edition!

Alayna -- when I really like a book, I want the hard copy, too. I haven't read anything by Karen Kingsbury in a while so I'll keep that book in mind.

Oh, and Alayna, thanks for joining us here!

Melissa (mblisa) | 136 comments Good question! =)
Ive read several good books this year, its difficult for me to have a "favorite".

However, I noticed that Kimberly and Janet mentioned the "Always" series by Sandra D. Bricker, I love this series! =)
I have read several books by Sandra D. Bricker in the past, and really enjoyed them!
Im on her Launch Team for her new book - its called
