Why does everyone hate Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace?
I never thought of jace to be jamie. ALex pettyfer was who i always thought to be jace. not that i dont like him, just not as jace
i just never pictured jace to be like Jamie Campbell Bower. no offence i think he would do a great job but hes just not as hot and Jamie Campbell Bower and they dont have the same personality. arent actors supposed to have a small connection to thier characters?
I just never pictured Jace looking like that, but I'll juge him when I see the movie. You never know he might just really change my mind and I'll instantly picture him as Jace but right now I'm still having a tough time imaging him act all like Jace but I have to see the movie to really juge it so I still have hope.
What makes people think that Jace should speak with American accent? The Herondales are Brit, and Will was from Wales. Eventhough Jace has been spending his days mostly in America, that doesn't mean that he has to speak with its accent. He was brought up in Idris until he was 10. They chose Alex before and now Jamie. Those casting peep didn't just randomly chose British young men out of nothing.
personaly i dont like the actor playing alec its just...i dont know i just thought someone else would play as him and the gay situation how are they going to do that or are they going to take that bit out with alec and magnus if they do i dont think i could deal with that i need more alec and magnus action!!

I dont get it i mean Cassandra Clare THE AUTHOR OF THEE SERIES said she loved him as Jace and if the person who CREATED this world likes him as Jace then we should too and for those of you who don't like him i don't know if your true Mortal Instruments series fans. BACK OFF

i agree. i mean, i didnt really think 'jace' when i saw him either, but if the author of the book thinks he'll be OK, then i think he should be. after watching the trailer, i'm just counting down the seconds to the movie. i hope he plays Jace well though!!:)

Plus the director is not out to get us he wants to bring the story e love so much to life so he obviously makes a good Jace

What did you actually know about who Cassie initially wanted to be Jace or what her reaction when Jamie was announced as Jace?

LOL... I give Jamie my best wishes (and the rest of the actors/actresses) for I want to keep watching the next movies. But it doesn't mean that your excuse is not lame. Because it is indeed. Can you say anything in a logical way?

I think he will be perfect. I was so excited when I found out, I think he has a way about his acting that will defiantly work in my opinion :)

I don't really like him... his too lanky or somethingtoo small..? Actually I think it's because he had eye-liner on in the trailer. But I definitely imagined something else!
He's a cute kid but he just isn't manly enough to play Jace! :-( Jace is toned and buff and oh so hott!! lol sorry ppl i just think he is completely wrong for the part!!

Who reads the books and doesn't
Jamie might not as stunningly attractive as Jace is.Jamie might come as a second option after Alex Pettyfer.
But Jamie will do his best to play Jace and no fans has actually seen the movie to say otherwise.
I dont hate Jamie, I just think that Alex Pettyfer would make a better Jace. Most of the casting dissapoints me. I've grown on most of them of course, but Jamie is still kinda, well, not one of my favorites. I guess its because he isnt the Jace I had in mind, and his hair is long and always behind his ears. likeagirl. :I
I was just a little upset because I didn't see Jamie as the Jace in my head, which is obviously not completely possible, but with Jace being gorgeous and all, I didn't think Jamie Campbell Bower lived up to that. I just honestly didn't find him attractive enough...which is mean so I apologize. BUT after seeing the second trailer I'm getting used to the idea...

Uh, I disagree. Clare wrote a certain character, but every reader makes up their own version of that character. So in the end Clare's Jace is just one of the thousands of Jaces out there.

I like Jamie because he's a brilliant actor and will do Jace justice. Heck, Robert Patterson wasn't who I envisioned as Edward but he sure as hell played that part now didn't he?

I love Jamie. I love Jace. At first, I thought they didn't really fit and make the perfect character portrayal, but now I'm opening up to Jamie. Still, I just can't see Jamie pulling off that cocky arrogant attitude. Like, he's not sarcastic and hot in any interviews soooo....that's my opinion. But I hope he's really good because he's gonna be in 6 more of these movies if he is

The looks dont matter as much at least he' got the muscle and the blond hair, not matter how weird it looks. I can definitly see and picture hime as Jace. Besides Cassandra Clare thought he was Jce exactly. And Alex Pfytefer belongs in the book series Gone by Michael Grant

He had 2 incoming movies when he was offered the role. I suppose he had too much that time.
I agree. I don't see what the big deal is. We all envisioned Jace differently, I mean they can't make everyone happy, we all have 1000 different versions of Jace. Honestly, I can no longer stand Alex Pettyfer.. His acting isn't all that great and I don't see why he gets as many roles as he does.
I don't hate him as Jace but in the book he is described as muscular. Jamie Cambell Bower is extremely skinny with no muscles and looks like a junkie

It really isn't that important to me what an actor looks like, the real questions is can he deliver the character? I don’t hate Jamie Campbell Bower and I am really surprised that there is such strong feeling out there about him. I was apprehensive when I heard the choice because I've only seen him in two things and I just don’t know if he has the acting chops. In Sweeney Todd, he really only sang. He impressed me but mainly only with his stunning good looks. Then I saw him in the television show Camelot and he was frankly just terrible. I don’t generally blame actors though when they have terrible performances on a terrible show. The writing and directing just stank on that show and there were some really good actors who stank up the screen just as much as he did. I’m hoping that the screen writing and direction for City of Bones will prove to be excellent and that Jamie is up to the task of bringing Jace to life. For everyone who is obsessed that he doesn't look like they pictured Jace –characters and actors don’t always look alike. Jennifer Lawrence isn't really the right physical type for Katniss but she NAILED that role.

But her precise and accurate acting of the character made up for that completely and you were able to see past it because she was still delivering Katniss' persona either way.
i just finished the first book and i'm in the second one, just saying i love it. but from what i read at the first book, i agree with what your saying, i feel like they did change some stuff that happened like jace never said in the first book "we need you, i need you."i'm really excited for the move though :)
