Nice to meet you, too. What kinds of things do you write? I live outside of Boston--and am always looking for recommendations for Irish writers new to me, and you've already listed a few I'm not familiar with. Thank you :) Have you read any of Claire Keegan? Welcome to the group. Cathleen
Welcome to the group, Matthew.
I've read most of the authors you've mentioned but not a single word written by Colin Bateman. If you have a particular work of his you'd like to recommend I'll add it to my ever growing list of books.
There are plenty of people in the group who'll gladly recommend Irish novels to you. Strangely, the majority of them live in America, like Cathleen.
All of our folders are open to members, so if you want any suggestions for books feel free to open a discussion.
Declan. :)

thanks, Matthew. I'll start with Divorcing Jack and see how I like that. It sounds like an interesting story.

It seems that Colin Bateman is far more popular than I had imagined.
I must read one of his books, soon.

I'll have to put him on my list, too. Mystery Man sounds like it would be a good read--so I guess I'll add one more to that ever-higher pile of "to be reads."

I'm Matthew, an author from Belfast. Like most authors, I'm obsessed with reading, and goodreads is the best place I've found to discover books (save for maybe the local library!). I'm a big fan of Irish writers, especially Roddy Doyle, Colin Bateman, Joseph O'Connor, Brian O'Nolan, but I'm open to reading most things, so I'd love some suggestions. Nice to meet you all!
