Bert (bjmdotbooks) | 14 comments Hi,

The series http://www.goodreads.com/series/64472... shows http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/93... instead of http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... as book #109. However, the second book is the original (in Dutch), the first one is the French translation. How can I fix this, is there a way to determine that a specific book is the "master", whereas the translations are the children? Or is there a way to ensure that a specific version of a book is used as part of a series?

This is also relevant when considering that the French series of "Suske & Wiske" is called "Bob & Bobette" and I'd expect that a French reader would like to see the French translations in that series instead of the Dutch originals.

Sandra | 31488 comments The book that shows up as the default is always the most popularly shelved book, unless the author wishes a specific edition to be the master.

There is nothing a librarian can do to ensure a specific version of a book is used as the default, series or otherwise.

As to translation - if a book is published in french it should have a description in french. Dutch the same.
