Ugur (ugur_basak) | 9 comments I'm just curious about to learn functionality of "check for duplicates" button in goodreads lists.

Until last day, I'm assuming it is merging dublicate books' votes. But last day I checked what will it do after clicking it. It just removes one of them from the list but do not merge it.

Is there anybody who knows what is the expected functionality?

If the functionality is just removing then this button is not a good tool to use.

Renske | 12233 comments As far as I know it should indeed merge the votes. Could it be that it was the same person(s) who voted on both editions?

Ugur (ugur_basak) | 9 comments It's impossible to learn this now. There were only three pages in the list and I've opened all of them, and after clicking this button I've re opened three of them and compared and one of them is deleted.

A few months ago I've tested this functionality again and as far as I can remember it was merging.

Deborah | 390 comments It does merge them; I've tested it before. If there's a bug, it's very recent.

It does merge them. If it appears not to, I believe it is a caching issue, and should resolve when the list is next recalculated.

I've checked it but there is no change.
