i am so liking Donald!! He reminds me of William Blake in Nine Coaches Waiting. They even both have oitdorsey jobs.

I love chapter 14....the early morning ride on Rowan (view spoiler)[ When I read that part I wonder why Annabel took that risk? Was the decision made totally on auto pilot? Didn't she think that she would run imto Adam? Was that in the back of her mind anyway? (hide spoiler)] and then the conversation with Adam. Too bad we can't have some Adam inner dialogue as he watches her riding?

The (finally) romantic scene with Donald and Julie (and kitten) is soooooooo sweet.

What I always appreciate about Mary Stewart is the humor sandwiched in between hugely tense scenes. Gives the reader a little recess....a place to catch our breath. I think this was done to exquisiteness in Nine Coaches Waiting as well, Donald is just a perfect unintentional comic relief,
