Sci-Fi in the Real World

First time making a post, not quite sure what to do, hopefully there isn't a post like this already, anyway I was thinking of Science Fiction inventions showing up in the real world. Specifically The Playstation Home, especially with the new Harry Potter and Doctor Who stuff, reminds me a lot of Ready Player One, and with the Oculus Rift coming out how close are we to that world? Just wondering what everyone thinks or what sci-fi items are showing up or what other worlds people think are happening.
